Description
Era - 1990s / 2010s - Boxing - Heavyweight

Perhaps best known these days for having perpetually stalked Wladimir Klitchko in the latter years of his career, Shannon "The Cannon" Briggs is a Lineal Heavyweight champion and at his best was a handful for most top fighters he encountered. While his asthma limited his stamina, Briggs had two fisted power and the hand speed to deliver blistering combinations.

Briggs, having escaped destitute poverty in his youth, was a decorated amateur boxer before going professional in 1992. While he picked up a knockout loss against fellow prospect, Darroll Wilson, Briggs managed to obtain a fight one year later against George Foreman. Foreman, despite dropping his actual belts, was still considered the Lineal champion following his historic victory over Michael Moorer. The fight itself saw Foreman as the primary aggressor, and while many including HBO's in-house scorekeeper Harold Lederman would give Foreman the victory, the judges gave Briggs a majority decision.

The Cannon then went on to fight Lennox Lewis in 1998 for his championship belt, and while he gave the champion a determined challenge, it would be Lewis who emerged victorious by a TKO. Briggs continued on with his career defeating the dangerous Ray Mercer, taking a belt off Sergei Liakhovich and losing to Sultan Ibragimov. He would also suffer a crushing defeat against Vitali Klitchko, before coming back again and following his brother Wladimir with the incessant call of "Let's go, champ," even pursuing the champion out during a paddleboarding session, in restaurants, press conferences and the gym.

He never received that fight.

Thank you for the extra work! But it would not have been necessary to do that extra for me! :)

I've downloaded the alternative version and removed the DLC parts so that he is playable.

In the near future I will get the DLC, so that I can use your new edits immediately!

Thanks again and keep up the good work! :)

You would need the DLC for my main version of Briggs, I've ended up using the DLC parts, often without paying much attention, for most of my new edits for something or another. I'd highly recommend planning to get it at some point, it's well worth it in my opinion.

I have no plans on releasing non-DLC versions of my edits, it's hard enough for me to keep track of the ones I have already.

I'll be happy this time, though, to make an alternate version of Shannon Briggs, and I'll delete him once you make a copy onto your own save. Just post a comment on that version after I post it so I know you have it.

I'm glad you've enjoyed my boxers, and I don't want to purposefully leave people out, but I'm also not going to hold myself back either from taking full advantage of the tools I have to play with.

So I need the DLC, or would you fix it for the lads, that not have the NJPW - DLC?

I would thank you for your good work. I've downloaded a ton of your Edits like the Klitshkos, Lennox Lewis, Powetkin ect. :)

It's likely because he probably uses a few of the dlc parts somewhere.

He is not playable. (His name is grey and not selectable).
Can you please fix it? :)

Thanks for your good work with the Boxing Legends
