[SP] "Battle of Grozny" - RHS: AFRF

The Battle of Grozny was the siege and assault of the Chechen capital city of Grozny, held by the separatists of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, by Russian forces, lasting from December 1999 to February 2000, in the context of the Second Chechen War (1999-2009). The Russian ground troops advanced slowly, and Grozny was surrounded by late November 1999. More than two additional weeks of shelling and bombing were required before Russian troops were able to claim a foothold within any part of the heavily fortified city. Russian ground forces met stiff resistance from rebel fighters as they moved forward, using a slow, neighborhood-by-neighborhood advance with the fighting focused on a strategic hill overlooking the city. Finally, after more than a month of intense firefights, the Russian ground forces could raise the flag of Russia in the city center, marking the total victory in Grozny, on 6th February, 2000.

Russian forces are meeting heavy resistance from Chechen rebels, who use guerrilla tactics, like the usage of buildings as positions to maintain a constant sniper fire on the Russian troops. Moscow's forces have taken the strategy of using little groups of soldiers to move more flexibly on the terrain to fight the Chechens. You take the role of Sergeant German Zykov, a member of the Russian Army, who takes part in the battle with the mission of securing three sectors near a strategically important railroad that passes through the city.
