Long War 2 Armory

Description
Long War 2 Armory
This mod adds new weapons, armors, and abilities to the Armory for Long War 2.

The goal is to make outfitting your team for a mission a bit more interesting with different choices. For example, you can squeeze in an extra soldier if you equip a couple of soldiers in light gear.

Weapons
Additional weapons have been added to the conventional and laser tiers. Some of these can be seen in the images above. Hopefully I will be able to get more weapons added soon at higher tiers.

Below are the new weapon classes.
  • Carbine Rifle
  • Battle Rifle
  • Light Machine Gun
  • Antimateriel Rifle

Armors
Armors are dynamically generated depending upon the cosmetic mods you have installed and activated for your game. This mod will recategorize the entire cosmetic mod into a various armor types. Additionally, it will attempt to prevent gaps in the armor, missing arms or legs, and other creapy things that happen when the game generates an appearance.

Changes are made to the default armors as well as Long War 2's protective vests. More emphasis is placed on providing protection than providing soldier's health. (This is a work in progress, I'm not entirely sure yet how it affects game balance.)

Below are the the cosmetic mods necessary to create the new armor types. You can install as many as you would like. Having at least one installed for an amor type will create that armor type. For example, if you only install Rainbow Six Armours, then you will get Tactical Gear.

I will be adding more later. If there is a cosmetic mod you'd like added, let me know.

Other Compatibilities & Suggested Mods
The following mods I have made integrations with or suggest using with this mod. Some of these help with the stealth game and or add in extra difficulty to counter some of the changes to armor.

Author's Notes
At present, I've put most of the effort at Conventional and Plated tiers. There isn't much content in the Powered tiers yet.

Everything here is currently under development in my spare time which comes and goes in spurts. New things will be added, some things may change, and I will be rebalancing as needed. Additionally, I will try to keep this as bug free as possible, but bugs are likely to happen.

If you would like to help me on this mod, I would be happy to get the help!

Is there a way to disable the changes to base game armours at all? I mainly want to use the new weapons.

Here's a very cool armor pattern I did a ways back... https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2668850126 ... also, if you know this armor, then you'll know that the original mod did not map armor patterns well... I fixed that so that the patterns work on this and several other armor outfits.

LWOTC is no go. I spent many hours in frustration and decided I'm not doing it. There are many changes both in gameplay and code that make it difficult. The LOWTC translation isn't an exact translation. Unfortunately, that time spent is all for nothing. Things in my life may wind down a bit again coming up. I have several changes that make things better (i.e. fixing missing visuals, fixing sounds, better balancing, better filtering on accessories like the ability to link accessories to tech level or armor group, and even changing Advent units). Over the last several months though, I've had no time. I do want to update this thing, as my kid has started playing XCOM, but it isn't a high priority in my life. I've recently reset my dev environment back to non-LWOTC so that's a start. Sorry, but life's been crazy.

Hello, is the LWOTC version of this mod still in the works or is that not happening any more?

Thank you for the mod, btw! :D

Ok

Figured out part of the issue on my end. I have Alternative Mod Launcher installed and that seems to mess with what shows up as I have been adding and removing mods. I reset it, and now can see LW as well as mine... may be updating mine here sometime, no promises as I'm overloaded with work.

Nope, Long War is showing in my mod-list.
But your mod is not. Strange.

@Kasr'kin yea, even Long War 2 isn't showing up in the 2K launcher. Same for your?
