MORE SHIP TYPES FOR THE CUSTOM FACTION


With this mod, the player can build the ship classes of all other MAJOR factions as well as the ships of the PIRATES and the MINOR factions in addition to his own normal faction ship types.

So combinations are possible such as:
Sophons with the affinity "Emperor's Will" and with additional ships of the Riftborn and Vodyani.

NEW
Overhaul of the ship design templates.

Improved explorer ships with 3 probe slots each.

The Academy heroes ships can be designed and build as regular combat ships for the players custom faction!


COMPATIBILITY
The original game data files remain untouched to ensure compatibility with future game updates and with other modifications.
To keep the whole thing simple the extra hulls are unlocked besides the regular custom faction fleet ships via the faction hull technologies.


IMPORTANT
Since the game GUI capacity is limited,
do NOT choose more than TWO main faction and ONE minor faction traits with additional ships in the custom faction menu.
The VODYANI are an exeption. Only a maximum of 2 additional main factions can be selected here.
With more than 22 possible ship types in the fleet ship yard,
the game GUI is over challenged and only a few ships will then be properly displayed and selectable ...

Traits for the armed colony ships of the Sophons, Lumeris, Nakalim and Cravers.
The Lumeris, Unfallen, Vodyani and the Umbral Choir cannot use these ships due to their different game mechanics.


NOTE
The old trait of the minor factions with all 6 ships remain due to compatibility reasons.

A trait wich gives 500 extra points for selecting other traits exists.


VERY IMPORTANT
You need the
DLC1 Vaulters
to use the Vaulters ship designs

DLC2 Supremacy
to use the Hissho ship designs

DLC3 Penumbra
to use the Umbral Choir ship designs

DLC4 Awakening
to use the Nakalim ship designs

Without these DLCs the VAULTERS, HISSHO and UMBRAL CHOIR ship hulls may appear as white 3D models without any texture ...
Similarly, the NAKALIM ships without DLC4 are shown only insufficient.


Due to its structure, this mod should always be functional, even if it is not up to date.


CREDITS
to "Knyghte.Fall" for his idea to give other factions the possibility to build Vodyani ships besides the regular ones.
His mod "Add Vodyani Ship Designs to Any Faction" uses a different approach to make this possible.

Further thanks to Schtierlitz for trying out the possible combinations of the factions with their different ship types.

@DontFollowOrders: As mentioned in the mod's description, the Fleets mod simply adds new ship types and leaves the original game files untouched. The new ship types can be equipped just like the original faction ships. However, the number of different ship types the game UI can manage is limited. Adding additional ship types through another modification (e.g. Glass Cannons and Asssault Ships, ESG) can unfortunately lead to problems ...

While this mod successfully picks up ship hulls added by other mods (I have the Glass Cannons and Assault Shuttles mods by Tygart), the faction locks appear to be inverted. Playing Riftborn for example I have the ability to choose only the traits that redundantly grants Riftborn Glass Cannons and Assault Ships, while the other factions' versions are all grayed out citing "Incompatible with [respective faction]" as if I were playing all of those factions at once. Not game-breaking in and of itself, but somehow these two mods and possibly more aren't playing nice together

Great mod thankyou. Now I can play as Horatio without the gay ships…. lol been wanting to do that for over a decade.

@∾PoP∾ Magnus - Primarch <JL>: The technology tree overview shows which innovations/buildings/improvements the respective technology unlocks. And also the respective ship types. However, since the additional ships of the mod are unlocked with the regular ship types, they also appear in this overview. This is intentional for reasons of compatibility (it's not a bug). In the shipyard menu only the ships of the player faction and the additional ship types of the mod are displayed. So you will only be able to build the ships assigned to the player faction ...

I wasn't using a unique launch mode for it either. Maybe I should try reinstalling the mod. What makes it so weird is, I can look in the actual tech tree itself and it's showing me I'll unlock ships that aren't options I should have.
