SLI Fix
Settings:
1920x1080 (FullScreen) @“Fantastic”
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Before: 35 fps | GPU1= 98%; GPU2= 3%
After: 63 fps | GPU1= 87%*; GPU2= 88%*
--------------------------------------------------------------------
=> SLI compatibility bits: "0x00C00005 (Deus Ex)"
Tutorial
0. Download [www.nvidia.com] & install the latest NVIDIA Driver
1. Add StarForge ("starforge.exe")[/i] to your NVIDIA 3D Profile Settings
( ->Nvidia Control Panel ->Manage 3D Settings ->Program Settings => Add)
2. Download [www.guru3d.com] & open NVIDIA Inspector
(note: also extract "CustomSettingNames_en-EN.xml")
2.1 Go to Driver Profile Settings

=> Set Global Driver Profile to starforge.exe
2.2 Then set SLI compatibility bits to 0x00C00005 (Deus Ex)
2.3 & set all other settings as shown below... => Apply changes
3. Enjoy StarForge with SLI enabled
(Test-) System Specs:
I5 2500K @4500MHz
GTX 460 SLI @840MHz / 2000MHz
16GB DDR3 @1600MHz
120GB SSD
Win 8.1 Pro 64bit

Tested with the following NVIDIA Drivers:
  • 320.49 WHQL
  • 326.19 BETA
  • 337.88 WHQL
  • 340.43 Beta (2nd monitor produced win8.1 bluescreen)

[/list]
Proof
(red= GPU scaling | white= FPS)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Very old screenshot... then StarForge had some type of fps cap (VSync) @ 52.6fps
Known Bug
  • CPU can't handle the load of "buildings" correctly: CPU Bottleneck (=engine has to be optimized)
    and / or
  • Nvidia has to create a real StarForge SLI profile
Attention
Unfortunately after installing a new Nvidia Driver, you have to set your SLI Profile again!
Even with the "Express Installation"... :(
(But only the SLI Profile Settings, the tweaked Settings stay the same.)
--> You can "prevent" that by Exporting all customized profiles (with Nvidia Inspector) and import them back after the Nvidia Driver Installation!
