btw blue+white+red+green will fix most upper parts ^^
So instead of making a color map that cover almost everything, maybe use the default RGB part map as a guide. It only cover the most essential parts (parts of shoulder, front of chest, stomach and side) that clips the most. Now extend the same principle to other parts of the body like the upper arm, pelvis, thigh etc.
You might not get a full coverage this way but it will put functionality and practicality first, making sure the parts that clips the most is fixed and any future mods can be made to fit this map.
This is only a suggestion. I hope other modders will also contribute to the brainstorming session on deciding which parts urgently needs the mask.
If I were to make body parts map, I'll look into vanilla armors first and identify what part is clipping and start assigning the available color map to fix that first. That way most of the parts will be highly practical since you can use it right away to fix things. Then if I still have any available color, I'll start assigning them to the rest of the body according to which parts badly needs them.
I understand that you want the combination of all maps that will result in full coverage of the body. I think that's because you have ideas for future mods to make use of that. However I think that may be a bit impractical since we have limited colors to play with.
I insist on covering the whole body cause i'd like to experiment a helmet turning the rest of the body as a skeleton :p.
But i've thought the same as you at first. I do lack a few colours though, i'd love to separate pelvis, upper legs and lower legs..
