Having said that, I propose you start a new discussion thread in the Steam modding subforum so that other modders can see what you're trying to do and maybe contribute their ideas as well. Right now I believe only limited amount of people are aware of this development.

My suggestion is to first identify which part of the body that clips badly with armors. This can be identified by playing around with body sliders and character poses. For example the squat pose is a horrible mess for most armor. Same with sitting on floor animation that made pants clips horribly.

So instead of making a color map that cover almost everything, maybe use the default RGB part map as a guide. It only cover the most essential parts (parts of shoulder, front of chest, stomach and side) that clips the most. Now extend the same principle to other parts of the body like the upper arm, pelvis, thigh etc.

You might not get a full coverage this way but it will put functionality and practicality first, making sure the parts that clips the most is fixed and any future mods can be made to fit this map.

This is only a suggestion. I hope other modders will also contribute to the brainstorming session on deciding which parts urgently needs the mask.

Arkhiel, I think there's multiple ways of doing this. It all depends on what your final goal is. I guess your priority is for future mods while I'm mostly thinking about vanilla armor clipping.

If I were to make body parts map, I'll look into vanilla armors first and identify what part is clipping and start assigning the available color map to fix that first. That way most of the parts will be highly practical since you can use it right away to fix things. Then if I still have any available color, I'll start assigning them to the rest of the body according to which parts badly needs them.

I understand that you want the combination of all maps that will result in full coverage of the body. I think that's because you have ideas for future mods to make use of that. However I think that may be a bit impractical since we have limited colors to play with.

or i could take the yellow zone but it's be neck+ low legs so not very useable

yup it'd be helpfull for them. I could do that but hope they add colors quick.
I insist on covering the whole body cause i'd like to experiment a helmet turning the rest of the body as a skeleton :p.

I see. I guess it's alright if you keep cyan parts just for the feet since I couldn't remember any vanilla meshes that clips between ankle to knee. However I think this purple part should be from waist to just above knee so that we can fix pants such as worn-out shorts/stout hessian uniform from clipping. Right now that pants clips very bad especially for female model.

for the purple part you are right if it could stop at the drifter boot limit for skirts, cause that forces you if you use purple to do a full long skirt/pant. However it is skinnable without needing it, while the feet part only needs the current cyan (if you make for example 2b high heels, they don't go as high as drifter but cyan will be mandatory to use).

That would mean that any shoe should be as high as a drifter boot though.
But i've thought the same as you at first. I do lack a few colours though, i'd love to separate pelvis, upper legs and lower legs..

So it does work. Good job Arkhiel. I would like to suggest some changes to the cyan and purple parts. I think it would be better if the cyan part cover feet and lower legs the same as if you're wearing Drfiter's Boots. The purple parts cover everything below the waist until just above the knees the same as if you're wearing Drifter's Leather Pants.
