Fiend Mod

Description
The Fiend Mod is a class mod that adds new content to Slay The Spire, introducing the Fiend class, alongside with 70+ cards, 5 relics, a potion, and multiple playstyles.

Short Description

The Fiend is a character that mainly uses 0 cost cards, but comes with the trade-off of starting with 1/1 energy. (Fear not, your starter relic will give you one energy as you progress through the run). Many of the 0 cost cards also allows you to gain Stress and Flesh. Hitting the Stress limit entangles you and makes you unable to draw for a turn. The limit is 5, but there is a relic that increases it to 10. Flesh is the main resource used by the Fiend. Flesh itself may reduce damage taken up to 5, but its main usage is for cards that either costs Flesh, have effects which are amplified by the number of Flesh you have, or both. There are also cards that revolves around applying Flesh on enemies, so there is more than just one playstyle. Keep in mind that there are also powerful cards with energy cost, but your starting energy may prevent you from using them in the early game.


Extra Notes:

This is my first mod and I had fun making it. I do not expect it to be perfectly balanced, but I will be very open to feedbacks and suggestions in order to work towards it.

The Fiend mod was not intended to be compatible with any other mods, especially Character ones, so expect crashes and gamebreaking interactions.

you cannot get flesh at the start and need to get cards to do so. also, meat paste is stupid. what purpose does it have, beyond flesh magnetism.

I honestly think some cards should be costing % of current health instead of % of max health

would also like to report a mild bug regarding enemies with -strength.the meat actually raises their damage output to one even if they would output exactly 0

So i'm going to be straight with you. you should either nerf into the ground or remove black market. it breaks the game completely. on a standard run i got enough gold in one fight to clear the entire relic pool in one shop. if the player finds the courier this behavior is a given. i wasent even in the fight that long, maybe 20 turns to aquire 600 meat, which alchemeat+ makes easy. its also possible that you should simply make alchemeat exhaust as that also plugs the hole and several other game breaking stratiges(such as full heal literally every fight)

Yeah that is a factor I have taken into consideration since the beginning. I have been trying to remove such possibilities from by making card with heal effects exhaust. I've looked into that event at some point but didn't bother to implement it. After all, the basic cards are are not named Strike/Defend, so it technically not a bug. I may decide to look into it again later, however.

There are cards with effects based on the number of flesh on enemy.

As a general design note I would avoid repeatable or grindable healing as it pushes players to get to full HP on non scaling fights.

A bug (?) report is your basics are unaffected by the upgrade strikes/defends event.

Was it on purpose that you changed the slash to only give stress instead of flesh? If not pls fix. Otherwise this is a great mod

Yeah, I made a lot of changes during the last update, and a rather impactful bug managed to slip through.

@Azraez
It should be fixed now. The bug stemmed from the fact that upgraded Demon Slash was working incorrectly.

And yes that is a jojo reference :^)
