Phase 1: Starting out
When you first start a new game in hero mode I suggest using the shop to purchase +1 atk point,
this will give you a slight advantage in taking down monsters and your oponents should they get in the way.

Sprint to anywhere in the centre of the map and await the Xanthids of both teams to meet in the middle and begin melee attacking them for the kill so you can start working your way to $500.

As you're farming the oncoming Xanthids be sure to keep very aware of your surroundings and constantly look around to spot oncoming opponents trying to sneak in for the 1Hitkill melee back attack.

If you are engaged with an opponent;
If they are attacking from afar with the axe, shield behind one of your own Xanthids while continuing to harvest the oppositions Xanthids, at this early stage in the game Killing Xanthids for cash is your top priority.
However if the opponent is advancing on you move back towards your friendly turret while throwing an axe at him, if he follows; your friendly turret will dispatch of him easy.

If you have the oppourtunity to sneak up on an opponent without being seen; do not hesitate to do so and move in close for the 1hit kill back attack +$100 and some exp.

Notes:
-Avoid enemy Turrets!
-When you have earnt up $500 from attacks, move on to Phase 2.
-Critical hits on Xanthids (Flash yellow) give 50% more cash than regular kills.
Phase 2: Harvesting, Levelling, Statting.
Congratulations on making $500 now it's time to return to base, go to the shop and buy the Dual Machine Pistols (They're the most efficient gun for the playstyle I detail).

Now that you've got some firepower to back you up we can start with the real harvesting, levelling and statting.

Harvesting:
By the time that you've generated enough cash and got your pistols, make your way to the caves between lanes, between your front and back turrets. Here will appear some special 'Neutral Xanthids' which are particularly easy to kill for +$60per with a critical hit kill.
Kill all 2 sets of four neutral xanthids and be sure to monitor the caves on your map for when they re-appear or whether you have team mates who are killing the other set for their gain.

When there are no neutral xanthids alive you should kill as many enemy Xanthids as you can see. Always be alert when playing in the middle of the field for opponents who will take you out on site, at this stage you should kill them on site as they will be either weaker or just as strong as you, using this method.

Levelling:
When you kill Xanthids and enemy players: you gain experience which you can monitor at the bottom of your screen on your HUD. For every level you gain you get +1 stat into each of your 3 stats: Attack, Defence and Speed.

Statting:
When you have cash to burn put it all into Attack stat, The more attack you have the faster you kill, the faster you earn cash to spend on...
you got it; More attack stat.

When you have earned 35+ attack stat you can turn your focus onto taking down enemy turrets and advancing on the enemy base.

Notes:
-If you are low on health (Below 50%) and think your opponent will surely kill you in a firefight, retreat to your base's shop to buy a medkit, they're cheap at only $50 and are well worth it as they bring you back to full HP. It's also a convenient visit to stack on more attack stat (or defense once you've maxxed attack).
Phase 3: Destroying Turrets & Advancing
Destroying Turrets:
You've got 35+ attack, It's time to do some REAL damage, advance to the centre of the field, position yourself facing a turret and make sure your back is covered by one of the big rocks in the centre of the lane.
Crouch to improve your aim and start emptying your magazines into a single turret, when your magazine is empty and you start to reload: take the oppourtunity to check your surroundings for any oncoming enemies.
During this time don't hesitate to kill some of the oncoming Xanthids that are approaching, they wont attack you unless aggrivated, but are a easy source of cash to level and stat.

While the enemies front turrets will be relatively easy to take down without being shot, their rear turrets can be troublesome as they have a further range to see and shoot you.
Using the Dual machine pistols you are far more effective in closer range so when attcking the side rear turrets shelter yourself on the inside wall and peek out enough when up close behind the wall to see enough turret to shoot at and not be shot at.
It may seem to be less effective; but when so close to the enemies spawn point your HP is the only thing keeping you with a fighting chance in combat, your attack will aid you in clearing the turret soon enough.

It is important when attacking the rear turrets that when engaged in a fire fight with an opponent that you do not enter the turrets sights, let the enemy come to you and always keep cover, if the opponent dissappears resume shooting at the turret from cover and they will be drawn out from need to defend.

Advancing:
If you feel you're being overrun by the enemy team a quick advance will be your best bet, an opposing team that is focused more on advancemant than defence can be just as easily overrun themselves.
To counter this type of enemy it is suggested to take out either of the side lanes and then advance to that side lanes rear turret.
After you have taken out a lanes turrets you will have a clear shot at attacking their 'Heart', Be very mindful to keep cover as their rear centre turret will take you out in a matter of seconds if it gets you in it's sights.

If you feel that the team you are versing hasn't had much experience at the gametype you may want to take your time; by attacking all turrets at the front, then the rear sides, then the centre rear turret.

Phase 4: Epilogue
The Centre Rear Turret & Kill Farming:
Attacking the centre rear turret should only be attempted when both of the side rear turrets are down and you're in no rush to kill the teams heart and secure a win.
Make your way to the centre turret by either going down the centre lane or crossing from another lane (be mindful that if coming from the enemies caves that you will travel through the centre turrets firing range).
When behind the last rock in the middle lane that blocks the enemies turrets fire you will have to run and jump to either centre wall to make your advance to a sheltered attack on the centre turret (expect to be fired at between the rock and wall for a moment till you hit the wall).

Now find that comfortable spot to be sheltered and shoot the turret without being shot at by the turret, when the turret is down you may freely run around inside the enemies base with no turrets to slow you down as you quench your thirst for free experience by butchering your opponents for lots of experience gains. After you finally decide they've suffered enough (or grown too powerful) you can take out the heart.

Thank you!
for taking the time to read my guide and hopefully better your understanding of Hero Mode so it may grow more competitive and there are fewer noobs calling "Hacks!" simply because someone has spent their playtime more efficiently than they have.

Happy Gaming :)

Additional Strategies
The following are desperate strategies for when you're drowning in the tides of war, or simply outnumbered by other players who know what they're doing 3:1;

"The Suicide Buff"
3 consequetive deaths with no kills = +70% Atk
4 consequetive deaths with no kills = +70% Atk, +70% Def
5 consequetive deaths with no kills = +70% Atk, +70% Def, +50% Spd

Five deaths in a row with no kills and you can buff your way to destroying enemy turrets, the buffs only last for 3mins (180Secs), so when it's close to running out; charge an enemy turret with all guns blazing. You'll land more shots and having the turret kill you will mean the opponent doesn't get +$100 or any exp for killing you.

When you respawn your buffs timer of 180Secs will reset.

"The Rock Sniper"
For this strategy you will need to save up $800 initially and buy an L86 Stinger,
The L86 Stinger will make you move sluggishly slow; but has a large magazine capacity and more importantly; a sharp sustained accuracy.

After you've statted up sufficiently to where you are confident to start taking down turrets (Or the heart; depending on which side of the map you're playing), Purchase a gravity grenade and get ready for some rock climbing.

1.Stand behind one of the rocks within any laneway that is a safe distance from turrets and will allow you to have clear sight at shooting directly at a turret.

2. Arm your gravity grenade and look at your feet; as you release it jump while walking towards/into the rock face.

3. Now atop the rock you have a clear view of most of the lane, It's up to you whether you want to take down turrets...

Or go straight for their heart, bypassing all/most turrets;

It's important to note that the particular strategies in this section should be avoided in your average balanced games, and should only be practiced when you're side is getting steamrolled or you're outnumbered by experienced players and the rest of your team can't stat and/or are essentially hopeless.

...Or you're really bored :P

The AK-103 is also very good at killing creeps and destroying turrets, thanks to it's high normal damage and the fact that you can increase the damage even more.
Otherwise this is a straight forward guide and helped me alot.

Brotha, this is awesome. I never knew that I got something else besides more health when I leveled up XD. Now I won't look as such a noob. Normally I just kill enemy xanthids and acquire a constant supply of tyrants for my team.

btw, it is also good to keep your Xanthids alive so that they can tackle the turret and you can put more lead in it.

Defense isnt bad, with the new speed update I've been trying different ratios of strength and speed.
Attack and speed will allow you to poach enemies, run away when low on health and approach and take down turrets quickly.
Attack and defence will allow you to withstand more firefights between heals and will provide you with some time to do some serious damage to the enemies heart when you're under fire.

It really depends on what sort of opponents you're up against at least 20 speed helps significantly in reducing time between xanthid kills which will allow you to harvest xanths for cash faster to get more stats.

Does Defence do any good at all? I mean, I could be a tank... But I would have low damage. Good idea to have any defence though?
