Summoned Units Rout instead of Dying

Description
The endless tide of skaven threaten to overwhelm your lines. Fear takes over as you grip your halberd and thrust it into neck of yet another verminous rat. Then something miraculous happens... out of nowhere, they all just drop dead. It wasn't the work of the college wizard who's been bolstering your lines, it wasn't Big Daddy Franz on his Griffon Deathclaw, it was the matrix deciding that those rats time had come and the best way to handle it was to abruptly kill them all at once.

This mod makes it so summons rout off the field when their timer is up. Instead of all dying instantly like a bunch of falling dominoes, they'll get hit with a -500 leadership debuff, which causes them to shatter within seconds and run off the field. Undead and constructs will crumble at a rapid rate when below 100 leadership, but more importantly manticores, skaven, cygors, and any other living units will flee from the battle instead of all faceplanting in the mud.

This does give summons 2 or 3 extra seconds of fighting that they normally wouldn't have, but all in all this shouldn't make the game unbalanced. Skaven might do a little better since their broken summons can still act as meat shields as they flee the field.


This mod should be compatible with everything, and it will work on custom unit summons too. I use this method for my own summons in my Sartosa Overhaul and Skaven Rework

Hi, thanks for the mod. (I can't play without this now, hate that summons just simply die XD)

Any update about fixing the crumble bugs?

That is strange, perhaps the summons dont have crumbling as an ability in campaign, i can't see why CA would do that though. They're undead so they should crumble when below 0 leadership. I'll see if I can fix that

Hey @Nanu, thanks for this mod, been using it for quite some time, but i found one oversight and i suspect there might be more of which im not aware.
-VCoasts Cylostra summoning ability(bretonian knights), units get hit by leadership debuff, but dont crumble and can stay infinitely.
-Lastly, im not 100% sure, but if you can doublecheck itll be great. VCoast summons in campaign sometimes wont crumble when they should, but i just checked in custom battles and they crumble every time, rather strange...

Not hard at all, you’d just have to strip their undead trait when they start to crumble, unfortunately they share their crumbling ability with undead so zombies and skellies would rout too. alternatively you could just overwrite their table to remove the undead trait or add an effect bundle to remove it. lots of ways to do it

do you think that it would be hard to mod it so vampire lords route instead of crumble? I know they have the undead trait so they crumble, would getting rid of it make them route? or do do you think theres any other way?

I will yes, but I wont be updating again as this mod has been integrated into a larger overhaul
