I would suggest a lower default speed limit, though, if that's something you can change:

But right now this is the same speed as a medium road. Maybe drop it to 40kph? The slower the speed the easier it is for traffic to merge on, and the more vehicles can fit in it at a time.
Oh, and how does this need After Dark? I did just buy that today, but I don't want to make any workshop assets using this if it forces people to have that DLC...
You mean you want to do a new asset based on this one? Sure, and zoning is quite simple to change. In the Asset Editor is under Basic > Properties > Enable zoning.
If that’s the only thing you want to change, you may try your luck with one of the mods to toggle zoning instead. Or perhaps you could use the original Network Extensions 2 road. Either way, good luck!
