Welcome to Hesperus! This beautiful valley surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks was once a sleepy logging area. Thanks to the opening of the brand new Mineral Slide Ski Resort, Hesperus is now an up and coming premiere ski resort and tourism destination. The valley and the gentle mountain slopes are now yours to develop into a thriving city.

My inspiration for this map came from ski trips as a child to places like Vail, Keystone, Telluride, and Breckenridge. The map is set in an autumn setting. There are very few ski resort inspired maps so I really hope you enjoy this map!

One click collection for everything you'll need to play this map: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1726792735

Some things worth mentioning about this map:
-You really need to play this map with all 81 tiles. If you don't, you are sorely missing out.
-For best results, the Dark Green LUT is recommended
-This map uses over 1,000,000 trees. It's probably better suited for higher spec PCs.
-You probably won't be building a mega city on this map. There's not a ton of flat terrain and it's really not suited for massive mega cities.
-The pond in the start square drains and is ready for sewage right away.

My recommended Ultimate Eye Candy settings are:
-Latitude: 35
-Longitude: 98
-Global Light Intensity: 4.5
-Ambient Light Intensity: around .70

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my map. Please rate and comment if you like it

Where is the Ski Slope Bonanza? Or No Name?

I get "Warning: The custom map theme used by this map or save is missing. A Default map theme will be used instead. Do you wish to proceed?"

I have the map and theme installed, and the theme is selectable in the drop down.

@kent the theme (Autumn Ski Resort Theme) doesn't show up when i try and start a new game with this map, any suggestions?

This map allows for absolutely amazing city views. Certainly one of my favorite maps now. The only minor issues I've run into are: planes exiting region at edges of screen will keep you from building within 1-2 tiles (planes landing at screen edge), native water/ground elevation can make damning up mountains tricky, hill and mountain dirt roads may need to be removed from main road circuit so vehicles don't end up in BFE, some tiles have foliage making the native tile pop out (minor eye soar). I highly recommend people try this one!

Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful maps I have ever seen of the work shop.

You can just disregard that warning if you haven't tried that already. It doesn't actually do anything. It pops up for me nearly every time and I just say OK and ignore it and have no issues.

I cannot get this to work, even subscribed to the specific theme and the entire collection. I also tried with Environment Changer Boreal and the Alpine Ski Resort Theme. Game keeps saying: Warning: a custom map theme used by this save or map is missing

Hello Kent, thank you for the reply, figured it out in the end! was exactly what you put there!

Hi Kiggi, if you are using the Autumn Ski Resort theme, make sure you are choosing boreal as the base theme before you start or load a game on this map. If you choose winter as the base theme you’ll get grass textures on everything.

anyone else had an issue with the grass texture being on all buildings, vehicles, tunnels, etc. looks really odd and is annoying the hell out of me as the map its self looks fantastic
