IMHO, this skill build is good if the lanes are more or less equal (i.e, you don't have 2 melee vs 2 ranged, for example).
If you are getting alot of harass, I would argue that maxing backtrack (2nd skill) first is arguably better, you would go something like 1-2-2-1-2 (the range increase for your escape DOES matter, if you get harassed alot).

Notes on items:
Hand of Midas should be gotten in about 8-9 minutes, if that doesn't go so well, I would argue that you should go Maelstrom/Threads instead (assuming you bought the gloves first).
Sometimes, picking up Tranquil Boots instead of Threads is a good thing - you have good damage and just need sustainability, you can disassemble and build Threads later.
Only having 1 tango at the start is not nearly enough regen in public games when the usual setup is 2-1-2, I would replace Quelling Blade with Salve + 3 branches (Stout first makes your regen go a very long way, you can pick up Quelling from side shop).
Depending on enemy team composition, you may need to pick up BKB after Battlefury, if the enemy has alot of stuns (unless you can gosu-crono every enemy stunner every time).

Now, a separate note on MoM:
MoM is definately not recommended, but it IS a viable early item for Void. The reason XBOCT doesn't build it is probably because he is playing against some of the best teams in the world, which would punish MoM severely.
Also, do not forget about MoM's secondary active effect : +30% speed. This may sometimes be "good enough" to outrun the enemy, acting as a pseudo-escape with +100 attack speed for when you use Chronosphere.
