This is a huge wooden sword.

What's Kai ?
Kai (Wake, Yake, Eke) is one of the Ryukyuan ancient martial arts weapons.
It is famous for the story that Miyamoto Musashi fought with a whistle in the final battle on Ganryu Island in 1612 (Keicho 17).

櫂（かい、ウェーク、イェーク、エーク）は、琉球古武道の武器の一つ。
1612年（慶長17年）の巌流島での決闘において宮本武蔵が櫂を用いて戦った話が有名である（Wiki参照）。
