RwF: Revised Governments

In 1 collection by JFD
JFD's Rule with Faith
20 items
Description
Overhauls the inherent bonuses of Governments, including those added in Starting Governments. The aim here is consistency, flavour, and to offer more intriguing choices, with balance something I'm far less interested in (especially since its with the whole RwF in mind). Note that this mod does not change the secondary bonuses because, as part of the overarching Rule with Faith framework, those are intended to be replaced outright.

This mod is a part of a series of mods called 'Rule with Faith.' Mods with this tag are intended to be played together, but can also be played standalone.

Does this mod and its dependencies works well when using Nomina ? And are the last tier Governments balanced - as in "Exclusive Policies for Tier 4 Govs" (from JNR) or Government Changes (from Social Mechanic) - ?

I might be wrong but it seems like the Horde's boost to warriors and slingers production doesn't seem to apply to their Unique replacements, such as the Eagle Warriors.

does this get rid of world congress?

This is actually working fine for me without using the Government Overview mod. When it is enabled, I can't change governments.

Theres still something fishy about the <Row LOC_GOVT_INHERENT_BONUS_JFD_DEMOCRACY tag:
"+1 [ICON_HOUSING] Housing per City Centre and Government Plaza, and with one Specialty District."

PPS: Should I even be able to pick Chattel Slavery when I've never been in a dark age (did I miss something here).

PPPS: Sorry for spamming the thread - wish you could edit posts like you can on any decent forum, e.g. Civ Fanatics... :-)

PS. Does Chattel Slavery even work? I don't know what the odds for converting enemy unit to builder is but I never saw it happen.

@JFD Thanks for the reply.
A) Tested with a new game using the same mods: No problems when unlocking the same government (but just test game so not necessarily the same "environment")
B) Tested again with my save game: Could not change governments
C) Tested with my save game where I changed the active policies the turn BEFORE changing government and now it works. Active policies were 1: policy from my own mod (never seen problems with this before), 2:Hero Cults, 3: Royal Liberry and 4: Chattel Slavery. NOTE: When removing Chattel Slavery from active policies it was removed from policies I could choose from too.
D) Tested again without changing policies prior to unlocking new government: Could not change governments
E) Tested with only removing Chattel Slavery prior to activation new government: It worked!

Could it be related to which policies are active - especially Chattel Slavery?
