Lets start to become a God... xD
Uuhmm, yeah... I know the title is... But it fits..., because with the invisible cam-tool of Space Engineers and the Admin-UI you can rly become this feeling... And watchting peepz what they are creating... How they master or fail.... Its rly epic..., beside the aspect to form your own space-universe....

On the other side, there is a little (big) sad aspect.. like always. :) And this is like in most of the games out there... THE problem... Not enough player.... and already too much empty servers around... This is always a problem! So, before you start, keep this in mind... and dont expect something else...

We all need players... on Space Engineers Servers or in other games... The global market is overflooded with empty games... You can give your very best... But expect the worst, like:

- your empty server and no change at all in visible range... Oo
- alot of costs of the bill, in compairing what you get out of it...
- alot of work work work... this is something the most new admins dont see.
- server-ad and at least have a Discord (should have every server!)
- And then they are all the other servers... already....

We see, its rly a problem. And you will become in contact with this... For sure! So, expect this. No, I dont want to say now, dont do this at all! - Create what ever you want to create, but expect some things...^^ :) You have been warned. xD And I know, everyone out there need
his own empty server... Oo -.- Just ignore the already big empty server-list ingame, makes only sad.

All the best, in case you still want to do this, for your own server. :)

Create an Instance-Name
Good name, quick check... ;)

I prefer a good Instance-Name for better sorting in the Windows-Taskmanager... for a quick check... in case there are problems with the service... with a name like: (tag = 3 chars long)

AAA -- SE -- TAG of Server - Server

We have this service-entry directly on top after name-sorting... and can check running or not! ;)

Delete an Instance
Before you delete an Instance, be sure the server is in the first way offline! In case its not, stop it and wait after stop-info 1-2 minutes.... Now you can delete the Instance. - In case you delete it with running server.... Yeah, prepare for some unwanted trouble..., like a crash / not clean deleted service in windows... :) Check Taskmanager for service not running anymore, is maybe a good idea, too.

Create Worldmap(s)
- Creating a world need not the button save+run... Just create the world with save config. (works only with first world!) Use this again, you have a mixed folder with diff. worlds... Keep this in mind.

- With a right click on a world item in the list, we have more options, like:

-- delete (seems currently buged! - only deletes files and not the folder, beside error-info)
-- whipe world (whipe current world)
-- create whipe save (subfolder with whiped world of the current)

Info: A good server comes with this! - Comes good in launchtime of the server, to use a Discord-Link in the MOTD-Area to build up your Community. But expect to remove it... Can get on the balls after some time, when always starts the Discord before you can play.... ;) But at the start, its a good idea, to use it...

Steam-Group ID for Whitelist
To find your 64bit Steam-Group ID for a whitelist-feature... in Space Engineers....

Go to your Steam-Group and open the admin site:

1. Steam-Group Admin-Site, copy the short-tag name... (ignore group id, we dont looking for this!)

2. go to url after you pasted your short-tag in:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/groups/YOUR SHORT TAG/memberslistxml/?xml=1

3. ID can be found in line 2, in the tags: <groupID64> xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx </groupID64>

4. copy/paste the numbers ftw.

Write a good server-ad and share it in the correct places...

(dont make stupid ad in areas, where this dont fits at all! - be nice! - to post in other server-ad threads: hey, come and join my own server... thats rly rude! And you can for sure expect that nobody cares about your crap... (forever! - with luck you dont land on ignore-lists) ;))

Offer a nice (free) Discord-Server...

Its rly a must have... In case of server-problems and to build (and hold) your community together... I prefer btw Discord over TS... After I know Discord... - Just go away with TS... move on... :P In case you dont know what Discord is or how this works... Start here, first! - For sure, a player who joins your game-server can expect already everything in place... and the admin has a clue of things he need for sure to know..., you know?

Router & Firewall Settings

Info: You need btw both Router and! Firewall to open the port... ;) Your server should be visible in public/global server-list after correct setup. In case you can see it only in Lan, there is something wrong.

From the Game-Website:

a) Static IP: If you intend to run a game that people from all over the Internet can connect to, you will need a static public IP address. Your internet service provider should tell you whether you have one or not. Without the static IP address, you will be able to host a dedicated server on your LAN, but people from outside the LAN won’t be able to connect to it.

b) Port forwarding: The game uses UDP protocol to communicate. The default listen port is 27016, but this can be changed in the config tool. In order for people to be able to reach your server, you will have to configure your router to forward all incoming UDP traffic on port 27016 (or any other that you have specified) to the computer where your dedicated server is running.

c) Firewall settings: Make sure to set the firewall on your server computer to allow incoming UDP traffic on the listen port.
