Description
This is the result of my second play of the scenario 'pine lake park':

The scenario puts you in charge of a small park on the side of a mountain lake surrounded by (mostly) pine trees. The central feature of the park is formed by a big lake, with some small strips of land to the sides of the lake. A bit more land is available to buy, but not much.

You start out by being put in charge of a small lakeside themepark, which was ruined by the pricing policy of the previous owners. Situated on the northern shore of the lake are a few stalls, a few attractions, toilets and the delivery building. One of the attractions coming with the park is 'sidewinder', a wooden coaster with a layout full of sloped curves and helices.

To give a bit of perspective for this feedback: back in the day I used to play the rollercoaster tycoon series and I've played through the parkitect campaign. So, I do have at least a litle bit of experience with this type of game. Also, I tend to not use landscaping with parks, so I used the terrain as is. I'm using the mods 'coaster cam' and 'construction anarchy'.

On my first try, I went bankrupt due to building a bad junior coaster layout and being unable to statisfy guests with high intensity preferance. Ouch.

So, on my second try, I built a junior coaster with 70 intensity. This irks me much as the junior coaster is supposed to be a more gentle introductory kind of ride with a low-medium intensity which prepares guests for the real coasters. I could have thrown money at research to get a high intensity ride, but with research being random, I rather went with the safe solution. This may be part of the intended difficulty of the scenario. Also, having no info kiosk available from the start means having to keep pathes short and simple.

What I did like was having only a bit of land and lots of water. I did not feel like building on the water at first, but then decided to go for pier-like structures, which made expanding easier. The strips of land available are really small compared to the lake, so the use of land tiles will have to be considered carefully. That's an interesting change from other lake/island scenarios I've played so far, which tend to be rather generous with land available.

What's also nice is most of the terrain: there's a bit of a rocky coast on the western shore, a sandy beach on the northern shore and an earthy area full of small cliffs in the east. What was not so nice about the terrain is the northern shore of the river running north of the park - it is a bit too straight imho, like right out of the terrain generator.

What I did not like was that the delivery building was not dressed up or hidden in any way. Just a few hedges, fences and/or a pavilion would have gone a long way. I 'fixed' this issue with a bunch of pavillions, trellis and 'flowers'.

What I am not sure on is the default color scheme of the park: the brown-in-brown would look a bit mono-tone if I hadn't left most attractions with the default colors. It is okay for the pathes though.

All in all, a nice little scenario that challenged and changed the way I deal with water features.
