What's Different?
Old Freddy:
Invisible 100% of the time to awake survivors
Directional Lullaby was audible to awake survivors
TR was audible to sleeping survivors
Had to wait 7 seconds to put someone to sleep, after which he could hit them
During these 7 seconds survivor's can see glimpses of him
Could see survivor's auras outside of his TR when they are asleep
Could slow down action speeds for sleeping survivors
- Cant do anything else, its all passive

New Freddy:
Only invisible outside the TR (which now plays to awake survivors)
Within 24-16 meters he appears in glimpses
<16 he is visible
Non-directional Lullaby to SLEEPING survivors
Can hit whenever
NO LONGER HAS AURA REVEAL OR ACTION SPEED REDUCTION
- Only has abilities now when not using certain add-ons

TL:DR for this section:
New Freddy can hit you whenever he wants, the lullaby is no longer directional, he NO LONGER SEES YOUR AURA outside of his TR passively nor does he REDUCE ACTION SPEED without add-ons.
Sleep
So, as you probably know, this killer has to put you to sleep for his abilities to actually work. This happens passively over 60 seconds from the start of the trial, or when Freddy lands an attack on you.
When asleep, you will hear the non-directional lullaby when Freddy is near and can be affected by Dream Traps.

Waking Up
There are ways around being in the Dream World of course.
1. Delay falling asleep
Not the best way, I must say, but if you fail ANY skill-check BEFORE you fall asleep, the timer is reset back to 60

2. Waking Up
There are many ways this can be done
1. Self care/ Medkit for heals
This one requires you to be injured, which means he probably hit you. Which of course puts you to sleep.
Using Self-Care or a Medkit and failing a skill-check will wake you up
There are add-ons for Medkits that increase the chances of a skill-check popping up.

2. Toolbox/ Saboteur for hooks
This one is uncommon, but failing a Sabotage skill-check also wakes you up so taking these is a good way around it.
There are add-ons for Toolboxes that increase the chances of a skill-check popping up.

3. Generator Repairs
Simplest one, fail a generator skill-check.
Only problem is that it regresses repair progress, unless of course its a fresh generator with 0% on it to lose.
Being on a generator that blows up will wake you up, even if someone else is the one who failed the check.

4. Clocks
Since the other methods can reveal your position to Freddy due to the noise notification of failing a skill-check, there is another method of Waking Up.
When you fall asleep, the furthest clock from you will appear with a white aura. Taking this clock will essentially set your timer to 90 seconds. (It delays the 60 second timer by 30 seconds)

5. Adrenaline
This one only works after the last gen has been repaired/ the hatch has been closed.
It wakes you up, simple as that.

6. Teammates
If you are doing a generator with teammates, should one of those teammates fail a skill-check, everybody currently working on the gen wakes up/delays their timer.
Teammates can also fail a heal skill-check on you, which will wake you up.
These methods create noise, of course.

An awake teammate can perform a Wake Up action on sleeping survivors to wake them up.
This normally takes 4 seconds, increasing by another 4 for each time it is done to you, up to a max of 12.
Snares
To counter (or at least ease the pain of) the Dream Snares, there are various things you can do:

1. Avoid them when you see them on the ground
They are large bright-red puddles on the floor that you really cannot miss, just walk around them when you aren't in chase if you don't wanna give your position away.

If you somehow still miss them then there are ways of making that easier:
1. Maps that track killer belongings
This can be the base Rainbow Map, or a Green Map using the add-on that allows the tracking of killer's belongings
2. Small Game
If I'm not mistaken, this perk alerts you when you are looking towards a dream snare within a certain range. I'm not entirely sure if this works when you are awake or not, but that does not really matter.

If you find that the snare has been placed somewhere you cannot avoid, then your best bet is to either Wake Up, go somewhere else or you can even just trigger it if someone else is in chase, keep in mind that Freddy might be paying attention, and now realise you are in the area

However, you can also take Calm Spirit, which will suppress the urge to scream when walking over a snare.

2. When in chase
Unless you have the balls to self care behind a pallet, and you absolutely cannot avoid these traps during a chase, then Vigil, although not the best, does in-fact reduce the duration of the slow as well as some other Freddy add-ons, such as the ones that cause blindness when triggering a trap.

3. Wake Up
Pallets
1. Maps
Using a map that can track killer belongings, namely a Rainbow Map or a Green Map with the add-on to do so, will highlight dream pallets.

2. Small Game
Have not confirmed this for myself, but this should alert you when you are looking at a fake pallet.

3. Windows of Opportunity + Memory Games
This perk reveals pallets (and vaults) in a 20m radius around the user. If you see where the pallets are when you are awake, then you fall asleep, you can see which ones suddenly appeared and are fake.

4. Wake Up
Dream Projection (Gen TP)
1. Pay Attention
The most important thing to counter this, is to pay attention. If you see the gen spewing blood, it is time to run or hide.

2. Sprint Burst
Taking Sprint Burst can come in handy with this, as you can hit the road the second you see the gen spewing blood. However, if he cancels this, you have just wasted your exhaustion perk... but better safe than sorry.
Of course, you can use other exhaustion perks, but they aren't as easy to proc.

3. Dream Trap Awareness
If you know where the traps are near the generator you are repairing, don't run towards them when he gets there.
Even if you are asleep, taking a hit from Freddy will put you to sleep

4. Just thought I'd throw this in here
The gen tp starts the trial on cool-down, so you don't need to be so paranoid for a while.

5. Loops
It all comes back down to this.
Should he find you, just loop his ass
Summary
Stay Awake
Use Maps that track killer belongings
Treat him as an M1 killer
Pay attention

Extras
If there is anything that I missed, or got wrong (most likely about the Small Game interactions), please let me know, I'll fix it.

Sorry for all the text, if people want, I'll add images in to make it less painful... though the text will still be there unless I can cut it down.

In Summary: Wake Up & Loop Him

Although, I can definitely see the problem there. Its like me saying take calm spirit to counter doc, it still takes a perk slot for a killer you see once in a blue moon.
Also certain map addons should pick them up.

I can understand that you probably dont wanna run all these perks for a one time opportunity.. so I guess you just gotta remember where they are.

If small game works (still haven't check that), then it should tell you when you look at it.
If it does not, then your best bet is to rely on memory. If you know tiles enough, have seen someone/ yourself drop a pallet thats suddenly there again, or are running Windows of Opportunity with a good memory, you should be alright.

If it disappears when you wake up, then its obviously a fake. You could use WoO for that as well.

how i know if the palet is real or fake?
Kormit the Frag  [author] 30 Jul, 2019 @ 5:04pm
Well, I also put that afterwards. But doing that gives away your position, a Freddy with a brain will remember that. If you hit a snare or pallet near a gen you intend to start on, he will come straight over.

> just walk around them when you aren't in chase
Does not it make sense to activate snares and drop down fake pallets so while other survs are in a chase, they will not fall for these?

Oh sh*t yeah. I wrote "for sleeping survivors" twice there
SurDno 30 Jul, 2019 @ 5:00pm
Lullaby has never appeared when you're sleeping for old Freddy btw.

Added a whole new section for it :D

Might want to mention that he no longer has his aura reading or action slowdown anymore without add-ons. A lot of people think he's OP because they haven't bothered to figure out that those no longer happen.

Thanks for this. I've been out of the loop and just had my first game against Freddy post-buff, and damn. Just damn. But this will help in the future.
