Intro:
This is a tutorial on how to become skilled at Doom 3 Multiplayer. Listed below will be techniques that ALL of the pro players use in tournaments like Quakecon, or just for laughs and to show off their skill. So let's get started!
1. Strafe Jumping
The most common and well-known technique used in online play. Some players refer to it as the "bunny hop" but there is more to it than just hopping around like a rabbit. This is not the easiest technique to learn, even though it is the most common. I will explain it in steps:

1. Start at a 45 degree angle from your target destination.

2. If your destination is to your left, press (Strafe Left) and move your mouse 90 degrees to the left as well, resulting in your target being at your right and you being 45 degrees from it.

3. Repeat step 2, but this time, if you are starting from the left and have made your jump, your target should be at your right now. For this, you press (Strafe Right) and move your mouse 90 degrees to the right. Continue this until you have reached your destination.

Keep in mind that strafe jumping is NOT as easy as it may look. It may just look like hopping around, but you will also notice that it is a faster way to get around the maps and it is a lot harder to kill a target flying by at 30-40 mph. Any further help with strafe jumping can be looked up on youtube.
2. Rocket Jumping
Rocket Jumping is a fairly simple technique to execute. Simply point your rocket launcher towards the ground, jump and immediately shoot after jumping. Some people tend to shoot early or late, that is where self-correction comes in.
3. Know the map!
Every new player will feel intimidated when entering a map that they have never played before. That's why it is important to bring yourself in a private game to become more familiar with the maps before competing on them. Take Frag Chamber for example: A player will not know where the Rocket is, or where the invisibility button is, or where the megahealth spawns! That's why It is sometimes necessary to obtain advice from a pro player. It's best to learn from experience, rather than knowledge. Also always be aware of flanking points, weapon spawns, and your surroundings.
4. Turtle Beach Headsets (For Die-Hard Players)
This is for Die-Hard players only! If you are willing to go the extra mile, buy a Turtle Beach headset so that the environment becomes your noisy, little playground. When getting Turtle Beaches, always be aware of the noises that you hear. Listen for spawn points, gun pick-ups, bullets shooting, etc. Turtle Beaches WILL cost some money, depending on which kind you get, but are better for hearing the environment and making people with speakers your ♥♥♥♥♥!
Conclusion:
These are the most important tips I can give you for now. Remember these tips and practice them with a friend. If you would like further help, you can reach me at my Steam name! Thanks guys, and If need be I will update the TuT.
