This guide contains small spoilers. Read at your own risk!

By taking fall damage you walk slower for the rest of the game. There are 2 spots where you can avoid fall damage to hurt you leg even more.

1. Before the sewers you are asked if you want to jump down the broken ladder. You can move to the room on the left and pick up a rope to prevent fall damage.
   
2. In the factory you find a key card, which can open a door on the first floor. This door closes behind you and you are forced to jump down. So do not use the key card in case you picked it up.

Also if you press up you raise your flashlight which causes you to stand still. You can avoid this by pressing left or right and down. Since down does not do anything you can ensure you are not pressing up by accident.

Since you can not skip text anymore the fastest way to go through the text is by holding the right movement key.
For me this only works for my gamepad, with my keyboard I can not speed up the text.
