"What is up with this port, man? I just got it and im already seeing so much wrong with it.

Why would they port this and not just do the PSP version instead? WHat's up with the horrendously ♥♥♥♥♥♥ portraits of the new characters? why would they remaster D1 and not this one? Why is there a random hi-res sprite of some dude sitting next to the pot when theres a bunch of REALLY ugly sprites all around it?"

That guy there is taken from one of the top tier spells. That model was intended to be something huge, so when they shrunk it down it looks better than the other stuff.

This scene is also literally from the PSP version, so it can't have been ported from the PS2 version.
