Description
This guide lists the best mods I've found to improve the Warhammer II gameplay experience into one of the greatest strategy games of all time. Considering DOTA started off as a Warcraft 3 mod, I feel the mod scene for Warhammer II is just as good. Let me show you what I've found after 1000+ hours of serious playtesting on the most difficult settings.

Up to date list of mods that really turn Warhammer II into a strategy game as deep as any Civilization game, yet with a combat system that has the action of all Total War games with incredible unit variety and depth. I am no Starcraft II pro, my APM is around 50 I think, but these mods make combat slower and manageable to the point where one does not need to use slow motion even in large battles. These mods together allow for a deep strategic experience both in and out of combat.

Please note the first item listed is Kaedrin's Mod Manager, which is a replacement for the default game launcher. It may seem strange, but KMM fixes game breaking bugs that have been present since the release of the game. As a result, many mods will not work without KMM. KMM will also help you identify any problems that cause your game to crash from any mod conflict. KMM is really easy to use, it's not more than 5 clicks to install. Do NOT subscribe to KMM in steam.

GCCM are added, the only custom maps I've found to work well without breaking the AI. Some people might say that GCCM do not work to well with AI on siege maps; well, I have news, the AI is broken on vanilla siege maps as well. It's broken no matter what you do (huge amounts of clumping and units doing nothing on vanilla siege), so may as well as play with pretty maps even if the units aren't using their terrain optimally. In my experience despite the AI issues on GCCM, the units will at least fight and be spread out because of greater space, allowing for more challenging overall sieges.

IMPORTANT: To get the full benefit from "Save Camera Settings" mod, change enemy and neutral camera settings so that heroes are always off, and lords are set to 'Fast' on 'Cinematic'. Live out the 100's of battles on the map in real time!

Notes for the Mod Configuration Menu:

When starting a new campaign, a big pop-up will appear with several options for various mods. Use this to configure various parts of your game to your liking, such as One button respec being free or not, or allow more than once (I prefer unlimited respects but only at maximum cost, no free first respec, for example).

When playing as a Chaos faction, the "Gates of Chaos" values should be set to minimum in order to avoid making the game trivially easy. Minimum values provide variety and wildcards without being cheesy. When playing as an order faction, you can increase these settings to up your challenge.
