In 2006 the Chernarussian dictator, Andrei Vulshna, was assassinated by a member of his personal guard. In the coup that followed, fear gripped the generals that ruled the nation. Fear that their compatriots would began eyeing them up to secure power. Within half a year of the coup, Chernarus had fallen into disarray. Generals became Warlords, rousing the population to fight for them. This increased the cultural rift that was already apparent among the populations, which lead to sectarian violence. In 2017, both the Russian and American sponsored rebel factions had been capitulated. The Nationalist Party of Chernarus has established dominance over the region. Worried about public image, the Unites States has backed down from the conflict and now simply operates refugee camps in bordering Ukraine. The Russian Federation sees the rise of this nationalistic party as vital moment that the United States is unwilling to handle. Under the guise of protecting the ethnic Russian minority in the area, the Russian Federation invades Chernarus. Playable as both sides, up to 5v5 PVP.
