Description
Dover is a pretty Earth-Like planet with some interesting factors. Land to water mass is very similar to the Old Earth in the Sol system, but the entire planet seems to be in one biome unlike the old earth. With Rolling hills, tall mountains and long beaches Dover really is a beautiful Paradise, but it has some strange factors like a very low atmosphere so be careful not to fly to high with atmospheric crafts. The planet is also plagued with extremely high wind speeds due to flat terrain in combination with tall mountains accelerating the wind. There also seems to be two large volcanos on the surface, dormant for many decades..
Another thing it seem to have in common with the old earth is the overall look and feel as they really reminds you the cliffs of Dover, which is why the first explorers called it Dover.

Dover is made with mostly custom voxels textures and will not override any vanilla textures.

--- Planet Settings ---

Recommended Size = 120000m (120km)
Oxygen Level = High
Atmosphere density = x1.1
Wind Speed = 95 (Vanilla is 80)
Weather = Similar to Earth-Like
Gravity = 1G
Ore Distribution = Similar to Vanilla Earth-like, Ores does not spawn under ice. No ore patches, so get your large detectors out!

And yes, Economy Trade stations work fine with this :)

Changes from the Original?
- New voxels for: Sand, Rock, Ice and Soil.
- Working custom clouds
- Ore rebalance
- Improved voxel transitions and tree distribution / Layout
- The only thing that is left of the original one is the height map
- 3 versions, one with reflective ice, one with a more vanilla like ice and a water mod variant

This planet was originally not made by me, but rather a large overhaul of the original one since it was broken.
I would like to thank the original creator for making this since I did love it when it worked back in the day, which is why I decided to remake it

Original

Shift+F10 to spawn

Water version now available now! Just load the water mod and spawn the "Dover Water" planet!
Click here for the Water Mod
This version is still WIP, so some things may look strange. Shorelines/beaches are very steep and the underwater may look strange at times

Now has support for the Real Solar Systems Mod!
No new mod needed, its the Proxy is baked into this one! Just load up a Real Solar System world and spawn your desired variant!

Thanks to Major Jon and his awesome planets, Dover now has some better weather effects!

Latest Update: 7th and 16th November 2024:
- Added support for the Real Solar Systems Mod!
- Added totally new weather effects and an updated weather system based on Major Jon's awesome work!
- Fixed Dover Water mod edition (Accidentally removed parts of the height map, so it was just a flat water world!)
- Added support for the new planetary encounters. Stations and wrecks will spawn on land, while wrecks will spawn underwater (Water mod version only)
- Fixed the Graphic driver crash when spawning the water mod version
- Updated the water settings (Waves speed and height, water colors and more)

Enjoy
- Northy

The particle effects of leaves or something blowing go ahead the wind on this planet. Clouds and grass moving one way and the particle effects the other. Anyone else having this issue?

Phew, alright I figured out what went wrong! Right before I uploaded the update, I was messing around a bit with the Water variants height map, but hit Ctrl+Z one to many times and it deleted part of the height map!
A fix will come out shortly, along with some new improved weather effects!

Huh, strange. It was working for me before I uploaded the update. Will take another look at it now!

I've just gotten this issue too, I spawned the water mod variant in with RSS and the planet was just an endless ocean without any landmass (or an ocean floor from what I could tell with my brief look using spectator)
I tried spawning the ice and regular variants in and they seemed to be fine?

Wait what? Was this in an existing world? And what variant of the planet was it?
I haven't had any problems like that myself, so please share any more info if you have it

It appears to be just a water planet with no landmasses at all after the recent update. Tried disabling all other mods just to be sure, but alas...

Real Solar System support added!
Its all baked into this mod, so all you need to do is spawn any variant with the solar system editor

nice :selike:

that is one of the reason I fixed this version, cause I have plans for that

Can you make a proxy for this planet so that it will work with Real Solar Systems mod?
