DeI - Alternative Hoplite Phalanx/Shieldwall

Description
Hi All,

Compatible with DeI 1.3

Current implementation of hoplite phalanx and barbarian shield wall has it pros and cons.

For people who are more into cons side, we have prepared this offical submod.

It removes pike phalanx based behaviour for these formations, fixing issues like AI units positioning sideways/walking through player formation or spinning awkwardly.

Instead hoplite and shieldwall using units now have passive formation and old Formed Attack added, which forces them to stay in formation, without above bugs (although sometimes it makes AI deploy own units in thin column).

Additionally all animations were swapped to only use spears in combat.

Their bonuses are:

a) Hoplite Phalanx:
+10% to missile block chance
Frontal armour armour increased, back and rear armour decreased = this means that frontally they are tougher but recieve higher damage when attacked from the rear
They are frontally harder to hit but recieve more strikes when attacked from the rear
+20% to Armour Piercing damage
+10% to Regular damage
+1 melee attack
+2 bonus vs cavalry
+3 bonus vs elephants

b) Shieldwall:
+10% to missile block chance

+20% to base Weapon damage
+10% to Armour Piercing damage

Main differences are that hoplite phalanx is more defense oriented while shieldwall is a bit more offensive. Phalanx also is tougher frontally but suffers more from flanking while Shieldwall is not as tough frontally but does not suffer as much when flanked.

can you do a rework on this? its so op even when theyre getting flanked from all sides, a homoioi phalanx held off against 3 principes units on its own while flanked from all sides

Give them attack order, they only switch to swords when enemy gets too close.

In general, always give phalanx attack orders to make it preform well.

The way phaalnx is coded, IT DOES NOT count as being in melee combat but having collision, so unless units is being told it is in combat, it does not know it needs to keep poking enemies at a distance.

Is there any way to have hoplites use the "Additionally all animations were swapped to only use spears in combat." without this mod? I want them to use spear since they are spear infantry, but they use sword all the time, even when there is 1,5meter gap betwen the 2 clashing units.

Hey, I noticed that some of the hoplite units are missing their formation attack ability. I'm not sure if this is intended or not. It seems like some of them are missing attributes such as expert charge defense. I was thinking this could be causing it. The ones I've noticed so far are; carthaginian hoplites, bosporan royal guard, bosporan hoplites, colchian foot guards, colchian hoplites,and persian hoplites.

Correct :) Granted, I still double check after each patch is out one I havent tweaked something but in general nothing that would make it not work as intended.
