Before you go aiming for the achievements, you first should follow the tutorial what will start at your first game. This will explain you everything you need to know about the game. If you don't follow it you might can get confused how everything works.
Also I would advice you first to play the game through campaign or with your friends in co-op. On this way you will already obtain some achievements and enjoy this great game much more.

Also important to know is that the achievements can have a delay before receiving them. So even if you done the requirements for a achievement it can take to maximum 30 seconds (mostly it will be faster) to obtain your achievement.
Either you can't see the progress how far you are away from a achievement.

To make the achievements even easier to obtain, you can make a sandbox game with unlimited money.

Gone Shopping
Buy a vehicle


Trams Around - 1
Have 3 tram lines


Trams Around - 2
Have 10 tram lines


Trams Around - 3
Have 25 tram lines


Are You Bus? - 1
Have 3 bus lines


Are You Bus? - 2
Have 10 bus lines


Are You Bus? - 3
Have 25 bus lines


And Metros For All - 1
Have 2 metro lines


And Metros For All - 2
Have 8 metro lines


And Metros For All - 3
Have 15 metro lines


Trollin' - 1
Have 3 trolley bus lines

All these above are easy obtained by making running lines. Each lines has to have atleast 2 stops. But these lines doesn't have to be unique, so you can make 25 lines on 2 stops. Just be sure you do all these achievements in one game and not spread over different save games.

We Can Build It!
Build 1,000 meters long road

For this achievement you just need make a road of 1,000 meters long. This can be done very easly. The road doesn't have to be connected to anywhere so you can build the road just outside of town.

My Own Fleet - 1
Have 10 vehicles running


My Own Fleet - 2
Have 50 vehicles running


My Own Fleet - 3
Have 150 vehicles running


Totally Lined - 1
Have 30 lines


Totally Lined - 2
Have 60 lines


Totally Lined - 3
Have 100 lines

If you made all the different lines (tram, bus, metro, trolley bus, water bus) in the same game you would come on total of 100 lines. And you will have enough vehicles running to have 150 running at the same time.

It's How You Use It - 1
Have a line 1,000 meters long


It's How You Use It - 2
Have a line 2,000 meters long


It's How You Use It - 3
Have a line 5,000 meters long

Only thing you need to do is make one long line. Like make one bus line all around one big city. This will give you also the 5,000 meters long achievement.

Metropolis - 1
Have 50,000 citizens in the city


Metropolis - 2
Have 75,000 citizens in the city


Metropolis - 3
Have 100,000 citizens in the city

This achievement can easly be obtained by using a custom ruleset. Load the ruleset below here and speedup the gametime and you will have it in less then 1 minute.

This is best to do while you trying to get the achievement The Cover-Up or Totally Lined - 3. After you have the whole city covered / 100 lines set. You can speed the game up and wait until the achievements unlock. This will help also directly getting the achievement Tick Tock - 3.
NOTE: This doesn't have to be done in one game.

Like Sardines
Transport 1,500 passengers using 2 vehicles in one game week

Load this ruleset and this map below here. Then build 2 bus lines and buy only 2 busses. Speedup the time and you will have it in 2 minutes.

Money, Money, Money - 1
Have 150,000 money

To get the first two done real quickly, you start a new game. Take a loan of 200,000 money. This with your starting money of 100,000 will make a total of 300,000 what will give you, your first 2 achievements.

For the last one of 1,000,000 money, its easiest to use the map and ruleset below (same one for Like Sardines). Then build two lines (both directions) and build enough busses. When you got around 150,000 money you can take a lone of 850,000. This will come on a total of 1,000,000 money.

All you have to do is start a sandbox. This will count directly as 1 sandbox game. You don't have to build anything or be a decent time in the game. So after that go back to the main menu and start another sandbox game etc.

Gather Around - 1
Play 2 multiplayer games


Gather Around - 2
Play 10 multiplayer games


Gather Around - 3
Play 60 multiplayer games

For this you need atleast 1 partner. You start a CO-OP or a competitive mode and start the game. Directly at the start it will count as 1 game. This meens you can go back to the main menu and make a new one. Repeat this until you get to the 60 multiplayer games.

We've Got A Winner!
Win a multiplayer game

For this you need atleast 1 partner. You should start a competitive mode and set the time limit to 5 minutes. Now all one person just wait off the 5 minutes and the other person builds like 5 depots and sells them directly. He will then lose. After that switch sides so you both will gain the achievement.

Tick Tock - 1
2 hours played


Tick Tock - 2
10 hours played


Tick Tock - 3
60 hours played

This is your overal time you played this game in real hours (so no game hours). Get to 60 hours and you will get the last achievement. Although the time doesn't counts if your AFK (Away From Keyboard) in the main menu. So you need to be inside a game. Pauzing the game might will stop the counter too.

Top Dog
Have 100% reputation

A few things that will help you get to 100%:

• Have all ticket prices to 0.00
  
• Make all workers 100% happy
  
• Use a small map (less people = less worries)
  
• Cover the whole map (make every building green, not yellow)
  
• Take your time to let the reputation grow to 100%
  
• I used Tutorial City for this, although I removed the house on the total right of the map

No Friend Of Mine
Have 0% reputation

For this achievement you need to set ticket pricesses to the maximum (so not only to red, but really to the maximum). At the employees you set the wages to 0. The allow overcrowding to 100%. Now you need to wait maybe around a hour or so to let the population drop down to 0% (this can be done AFK).

For the campaign, I would just build a metro line running through the major areas of the map, taking out loans of 200K at the start. With enough money leftover, another metro line running bisecting it and those 2 lines should give you enough money to do whatever else you need.
Keep an eye on what the objectives are. For city/population growth, build roads with sidewalks in undeveloped areas. For coverage, tons of bus routes.

Green City
Have no private motoring in the city for 48 game hours

For this achievement I would advice you to use the map "Tutorial City". All you have to do is remove all the roads and speed up the game. While waiting all buildings will dissapear what will be no problem. Wait of 48 game hours (not real hours).

The Cover-Up
Have 100% coverage

For this achievement I would advice you to use the map "Tutorial City". For this achievement you not only need to get every building green (2 lines at every building) but you also need to use every piece of road. The screenshot below will shows how I did it.

Found an easier way to get "The Cover-Up". You can simply destroy great part of the Tutorial City, just leave a couple of areas. So you can get 100% coverage just with 1-2 bus lines.
