Introduction

Hello. Once again, it's your favorite talentless hack. This is a compilation of all three parts of Firepower, as I'd originally planned to work towards back when I started part 2, which seems largely ignored, but I digress. This completely overhauls every of aspect combat in the game, bar magic casting.

  • Rebalanced Ranged Combat: Guns, bows, crossbows, throwing weapons, and artillery of all varieties have had had their ranges, damage, ammunition, and/or fire rates increased and balanced against other weapons platforms. All explosive elements of ranged weapons have been reworked to inflict maximum chunky salsa. Additionally, all cannon units get access to grapeshot, and ammunition swapping is planned for most non-gunpowder units.
  • Brutal Melee: With a complete overhaul to every units' stats, melee is be more prolonged and brutal. Melee units are better equipped to survive the improvements to ranged combat. Completely one-sided fights between frontline troops should be rarer. Cavalry is be useful, even dangerous, on larger unit sizes now.
  • Monstrous Monsters: Monstrous infantry and giant-class units have both seen significant buffs to make them dangerous past the first few turns of a campaign. No longer will trolls and their ilk rush into melee only to die horribly in 10 seconds.
  • Legendier Legendary Characters: Every Legendary or Unique character has been improved more than the rank and file troops and generic characters. They are now be centerpieces for every battle they are involved in. Their survival or demise will be more keenly felt.
  • Impactful Fatigue: The fatigue system has been reworked to more severely impact the flow of battle. Fatigue management is more important and easier to achieve, as it was in earlier Total Wars.

Compatibility

This is save game addable, but not safe to remove from ongoing campaigns, as it contains custom units.
This is compatible with anything that does not modify any combat stats for any vanilla units, projectiles, or explosions. Things that change unit size are compatible, for now.
Obviously, this is not compatible with any of the individual parts of Firepower. Just don't.

I will not support issues caused by CA's garbage tier mod manager.

Known Issues

Selecting non-standard ammo for some units removes the visual effects for projectile trails and explosions.

A temporary workaround has been implemented and the current impact on the visual integrity of combat should be extremely minimal.

FAQ

Q: Will you make a SFO/Radious/etc. version?
A: No. Do it yourself. I spend too much time working on things I care about. The tools needed to do it yourself are easy as sin to use and all you need to do is balance the mod against whatever you want to balance it against, since I've already done all the irritating stuff.

Q: Why does this crash on start/in battle/other situation?
A: Unless I literally just put out an update and fethed it up due to sleep deprivation, you broke cardinal rule #1 because you didn't read the compatibility section. Use Kaedrin's Mod Manager. It will literally solve 99%+ of issues with crashes/mods not working.

Q: I found a bug!
A: That's not a question, Billy. Put as accurate a description of the issue and situation in which it occurred below and it'll get looked at Soon™ if it's a plausible issue within the scope of this mod.

Q: Can I use X in another mod?
A: Knock yourself out. The idea of intellectual monopoly is so 1715 AD. Just be sure to give credit where credit is due, and let me know (if you'd be so kind).

Amazing mod!Just found an issue with The Sisters of Twilight....Their dragon is missing melee attack when used as a mount.

For anyone who wants to use this with SFO, I suggest you first try a new game with it loaded before it, then try a new game with the same faction with it loaded after to see what all it does or doesn't change. This is such a damn good mod, I just can't let it go, lol.

it does work with the Firepower Overhaul Pt 1 (Modern Weapons). Idk why it doesnt work with this here

No idea. Ought to still work as normal, given CA hasn't changed anything with ammo selection that I know of.

Custom units got moved to the garrison overhaul to prevent dependency issues.
