Description
[Vanilla|Survival Ready|Subgrids]

A simple placeable turret with a single gatling-gun.

It is set up to work with all major turret scripts (choose one).

It is quite obviously not conveyored, but has a small cargo container through which you can manually refill it. The ammo lasts for 132 seconds of continuous fire.

Although it is tiny, it's still more powerful than a vanilla gatling turret, while taking up only a single block instead of 27!


Some stats:
-Blocks: 26
-PCU: 312
-Mass: 2.7 t
-Max-Angle: [-30°] - [90°] Up


Setup:
Choose one of the three turret scripts and follow the instructions:

A: Whip's Turret AI Slaving Script - complicated setup, lots of customization, very reliable
1.-Make a hole for your turret (1x1)
2.-Place a single turret on your ship
3.-Rename Turret Group X (change the X to a,b,c or something) (delete the old Turret Group X!!)
4.-Place one or more AI turrets close by and include them in the group
5.-Nametag all AI turrets with 'Designator', e.g. "Interior Turret 2 Designator"
6.-Repeat step 2-5 as many times as you want
7.-Delete the group called DDS Turrets
8.-Place a programmable block on your ship and load Whip's script

B: Diamond Dome Defense Script - medium setup, some customization, +tilt-lock reload
1.-Make a hole for your turret (1x1)
2.-Place turret on your ship (as many as you want)
3.-Place at least one AI turret on your ship
4.-Group all AI turrets as 'DDS Designators'
5.-Delete the group called Turret Group X
6.-Place a programmable block on your ship and load the Diamond Dome script
7.-Recompile script if you add more turrets

C: Rdav's Easy Auto Turret Script - simple setup, limited options
1.-Make a hole for your turret (1x1)
2.-Place turret on your ship (as many as you want)
3.-Place at least one AI turret on your ship
4.-Delete all groups
5.-Place a programmable block on your ship and load Rdav's script

Has anyone had an issue subscribing to these Mods and them not showing up in the Mod list? or am i missing something?

excuse me while I subscribe to all your non-clang weapon blueprints. Imagine what these can do with weaponcore weapons...

Both whips script and diamond dome apparently support hinges already, I guess I need to make a new hinge powered turret now :D

And attach the gun part to the elevation rotor of course

It's sadly really difficult. What you could do is paste this in in a creative world separate the 2 subgrids (simply detach the rotors) and blueprint them. Then you can print them and attach them to the large grid rotor which you would have to build yourself. The naming and rotors angles should be conserved, you just have to name the big rotor "Rotor Azimuth" and put it in the DDS Turrets group.

Is there an easy way to build this and your other DDS turrets in Survival mode? The subgrids make using Projectors VERY difficult, and building these turrets from scratch would be time consuming as well as error-prone with the specific part naming.

Don't get me wrong, these turrets look AWESOME, and I'd love to outfit my Survival ships with these bad boys. Any help would be appreciated!
