Weapons and the level of your weapon training make no difference in hitting mobs. It all comes down to your character level vs. mob level.
If you want to do a quick dungeon, run past the first room of boars and kill the second. That is the room that spawns the boss.
When you are fighting the boss, let him hit you two times and then use a pot. Do not heal on a miss. Use your pots to their fullest potential. It's also a good idea to wear a life ring if you aren't a sword user.
