Empire TV Tycoon is a TV channel management sim. There are a lot of things you can do. You can buy and broadcast real movies, ads to increase revenue, or even make your own movies and submit them to the Roskars in hopes for cash and fame.

But making great (especially perfect) movies is hard.

In this guide, you will learn general movie making information, point distribution, studio upgrades and the various events than happen when filming a movie.

Without further ado, let's get straight to the point!

This upgrade is required to hire actors and to make movies. If you don't have this, then you can't make movies, which is the main topic of this guide.

You must immediately purchase this upgrade, else you won't have the ability to film movies, as shown above. If you don't want to get this upgrade, then get a life.

Another important upgrade. This upgrade increases the points you can allocate to the production point board.

Thus, you can make higher-rated movies, which increases the chance you can win the Roskars.

You should get this upgrade as soon as possible, since the requirements of getting the Roskars will increase, as is the quality movies that your opponents have.

Production points are very important for your movies. If you poorly allocate them or even allocate none, your movies will fail, and you won't win any Roskars.

Get this upgrade as soon as your fame points and total money allows.

This upgrade allows you to hire better-rated actors. They have more experience in different genres, which raises the chance of a better performance, which raises your rating.

This upgrade is pretty important too, as you will need 5-star actors later on; critical for winning the late-game Roskars, and doubly critical for getting a 10 rating. You should get this upgrade quickly.

But don't get it the moment it's available, unless you have PR specialists. The first upgrade is available at 150 fame, but the next actor level is not available until at 300 fame points. Same counts for next upgrade, which is available at 300 fame points but the next actor level is not available until at 400 fame points. The 1, 2 and 3 star actors are good enough until then. If you get this upgrade too early without any PR specialists, then you probably have only 1, 2 or 3 actors available, and that can make your movies have crappy ratings.

If you don't get this upgrade, then you will have only lower-rated actors at your disposal, and that can make it really hard to win late-game Roskars.

Along the way you may run into some events. These can alter the final rating of your movie, or can make the actor performance better or worse.

Here are all of the known events:

(Actor 1) and (Actor 2) had been talking about it. It would be nice if you let them have more freedom to improvise.

Would you let them improvise a little more?

The right choice: Let them improvise more

Reason: They will think that it is nice that you listen to your suggestions and that they should express themselves more in their movie, and thus, actor performance goes up slightly. Press No and the actors will feel ignored but they will do their best to act exactly according to the script, which does not hurt the performance.

(Actor 1) and (Actor 2) started dating after meeting in the set, and they are beginning to fall in love. They wonder if you are okay with this relation.

You want them to stop seeing each-other and focus on the production?

The right choice: Allow them to fall in love

Reason: The actors will be very happy that you do not concern about their relationship, and their collaborative performance in love scenes will increase. You should allow them to fall in love always.

(Actor 2) has communication problems with (Actor 1) and think that he/she is very arrogant. (Actor 2) asks you to speak with (Actor 1) to resolve the impasse, making the situation better for (Actor 2).

Would you like to have a chat with (Actor 1)?

The right choice: Depends

Reason: If you have a chat with the actor, then the supporting actor will comment you, bringing their performance up. But however, the lead actor will be pissed that you listen more to the supporting actor, bringing their performance down.

(Actor 1) has serious issues with (Actor 2) bad habits when recording shared scenes and ask for a rise of $5,000 to let it pass and move on.

Would you like to pay $5,000 to please (Actor 1)?

The right choice: ?

Reason: If you pay them, the lead actor will be very pleased, making their performance better. But, the supporting actor will feel disappointed, making their performance worse.

A friend of the girlfriend of your stepbrother has heard that vampire fashion is coming back.

Would you like to make the make the necessary changes, for $5,000, and add some kind of vampires to your movie?

The right choice: No

Reason: If you choose Yes, then some vampires will be added to the movie, you will pay $5,000, but it seems that zombie fashion is coming back, hurting the rating of your movie. Quite the worst of both worlds.

A new software has been developed by two graduates at Empire University. The software looks promising, and it seems that it will help our technicians in the post processing of the movies. However, they will need some extra time to learn how to use it and the results aren't guaranteed.

Would you like to use the new software and give $5,000 to the two graduates to help them develop more stuff?

The right choice: Use the software

Reason: The new software will produce an excellent result, raising the rating. I don't think there is a reason to press No.

A staff member found on YouTube a girl with incredible voice but with only 1,000 followers. The staff member suggests that it would be nice to include her in the production. After contacting her, she offers to sing for free.

Would you like to try the unknown singer in the production?

The right choice: Bring the singer

Reason: She is a rising star, and the song is a hit, bringing up the rating, I don't think there's a reason to press No.

A well-known blogger heard that you're doing his favourite movie genre and offers to help you in the final montage of the movies for free.

Would you allow him to help you rearrange your final montage if you need him?

The right choice: Don't let him help you

Reason: If you allow him to help you, then your decisions will incur disputation, and the blogger's decisions will not be very successful, thus hurting the rating. If you press No, then the blogger will be upset even though the movie quality was enforced, bringing up the rating.

The Empire TV director asks you to hire his son, an apprentice DJ, for this movie so that he can learn and practice how mixtures are made in a professional production. The director offers $10,000 if you can fulfil this favor.

Would you agree that the director's son will do the sound mix in the production?

The right choice: Allow the son to do the mix

Reason: Not only you will get $10,000, which is important in the early stages, but the son happened to be very good at the mixing table, which brings the rating up. Double win!

The mayor election of Empire City is getting closer, and the current mayor's committee offers you $10,000 if you let the mayor do a minor cameo in this movie.

Would you accept the deal?

The right choice: Allow the mayor to appear in your movie

Reason: Surprisingly, the mayor's performance will be very good, and that will please people, bringing up the rating. Not only that, you get $10,000! Quite the best of both worlds. I don't think there's a reason that you should press No.
