Preamble
These are some simple trading rules, that you can use to keep gaining resources.

You can keep using the trade cycle described in the first part, to simply increase your trading capital of reserve currencies directly.

You can use the second part trades to gain secondary resources, that can be traded back to reserve currencies of another race.
Direct Trade in Reserve Currencies (aka The Basics)
Keep making the following trades, to come away with huge gains in each race's reserve currency:

  • Citadel - Buy Platinum and Gold
  • Vanderi - Buy Platinum and Gold
  • Ulooquo - Buy Titanium and Cobalt
  • Saurid - Buy Cobalt
Secondary Trades (aka More Cash Cows)
Make the following additional trades in secondary resources, to end up earning even more reserve currency of the Vanderi and Ulooquo.

  • Citadel - Buy Chiralite
  • Vanderi - Sell Chiralite
  • Ulooquo - Buy Chiralite, Sell Yttrium
  • Saurid - Buy Yttrium

Trading stuff like adamantine for titanium very quickly gives you thousands of titanium to build kick start your ship. The game actually screws you over by locking resource gain rates behind story progress so if you don't know about this, the resource trade system is literally you're only way to get a good ship early.

Tyncoeden -> Buy Adamantite or Titanium with Neutronium you bought at the citadel. Best cycle for me is: Buy Platinum in the Citadel and buy more Titatnium from the Uloquo (Infinite upcycle, 4 Titanium for 1 Platinum at Citadel, then 1 Platinum for 10 Titanium at the Squidmen) until you can expend spare Titanium for Neutronium which trades for lots of Titanium and Adamantite from the Tyncoeden.

I have yet to find a reason to trade, Some one please explane it as 30 min in a asteroide field and you have all the stuff you need for a very long while.

Best way to make many many resources is to buy everything except Yttrium from Ulooquo, then buy everything except Neutronium from Saurid. And then sell everything except main resources to Vanderi. After that go to Citadel sell all the Cobalt you received and then buy Chiralite, Gold, Platinium and Neutronium.

Repeat it a few times and you are set for life.

Just rechecked and in both my playthroughts it was the same: saurids only say "I'll pass your requests along". I destroyed the chitik base in both playthroughts as well. As well as hundreds other chitik ships. My commander never said anything as well. I'm not sure when I first asked them to trade on the second run but I'm sure I asked the first saurid I saw on the first run because I always exhausted all dialoge options.

you can trade with the saurids by asking the first one you see to trade..
then it takes a while for a trade agreement to be accapted. just check back with the commander of the station, eventually she will inform you of said agreement. then you can trade with them

Saurids were the first people I traded with. Did you blow up the forward base for them?

Not only are the aranoa missing.. but how do you actually trade with saurids? they always say because of the war they can't and I'm unable to find their home system, if it's there
