Answer Knot has a total of 6 Steam achievements, 3 of which are missable and 3 which are story related. All achievements can be earned in a single playthrough taking around 15 minutes to complete.

The game is controlled using a keyboard and mouse
Movement = W,A,S,D
Interact = Left mouse button (LMB).
Zoom = Hold right mouse button (RMB).

Note that at the time of writing, Steam is still "learning about this game" so achievements will not yet count towards profile totals, I'm somewhat unsure of the "learning" process, but given the positive reviews, it should only be a matter of time until they count towards profile totals.

This achievement pops a second or two after clicking on the "Play" button at the main menu.

At the start of the game do nothing, do not touch the keyboard or the mouse, just wait. The game starts off with a phone call being picked up by an answering machine, during which time you can't do anything anyway, once this has finished, just wait.

A short time after the first message is left, a second phone call is picked up by the answering machine, again just wait. Once 3 minutes have passed as long as you did not touch the keyboard or mouse, this achievement will pop.

For this achievement you must listen to an answering machine message 3 times, which is done by interacting with the answering machine with the LMB, letting the message play, interacting again, letting the message play and then interacting for the 3rd time to earn the achievement.

The reason for doing the "Standing still simulator" achievement first, followed straight away by the "Are you deaf?" achievement is that when you interact with the answering machine it plays the last received message. By waiting for the second message, which I believe is the shortest of all the messages that you will receive, it optimises the time required to 100%.

The answering machine is located in the hall leading to the front door & stairs, on a side table to the left, see video walkthrough @ 2:24 for further help locating the phone.

For this achievement you need to zoom in on and interact with "the magazine under the table". The table in question is in front of the TV, surrounded by sofa's and chairs, the magazine is a travel magazine. If you stand facing the TV so that the table is in front of you, look down and you should see it. See video walkthrough @ 3:34 for further help locating the magazine.

After inspecting the magazine, do as asked in the last message received and get the chicken out of the freezer to progress the story. The freezer is in the kitchen, near the grey back door, the chicken is on the third shelf down, next to an orange bowl. See video walkthrough @ 3:55 for further help locating the chicken.

You will then receive another message asking if you want some beers, once this message ends, check on the beer situation. To earn this achievement, you must find the beers, which are in the kitchen, in a drawer, close to the fridge/freezer. The large bottom drawer, directly to the left of the fridge/freezer, below four smaller drawers. As soon as you open the drawer, the achievement pops. This achievement pops at the end of the game, just before the final credits. To progress the story after earning the "Come on, you'll get drunk" achievement, continue to listen to the messages that you receive and follow the request/instructions or clues pertained within.

The first message after "Come on, you'll get drunk" achievement, talks of wanting a motorcycle and motorcycle ads. To progress the story, find a motorcycle magazine, which is on the dinning table, at the end opposite to the kitchen.

After interacting with the motorcycle magazine the next message asks you to check for news on the radio and in the paper. The radio is easy to find, from standing facing the magazine, look up to eye level and turn about 100 degrees to your left and you will see a set of cupboard and drawers against the wall with a lamp on top, the radio is to the left of the lamp. As for the newspaper, it gets delivered just after you receive the last answering machine message, check the front door.

After interacting with the radio and paper, you will receive another message, the clue here is that we never clean up the couch after sleeping on it, so do just that. interact with the 4 cushions and the blanket on the floor in front of the sofa's and you will receive another message.

The next request is to find your gun, this is in a cupboard, under the stairs, next to the front door. Inside the cupboard however, is a safe, as for the code, this is found on 4 Polaroid photographs. These photos are labelled first, second, third and fourth and each picture contains a number of items/objects/creatures. The number written on the photo pertains to which section of the safe code the photo relates to, and the number of items/objects/creatures in the photo gives you the code number.

Standing facing the safe if you do a 180 turn you will see photos 1, 2 and 4 on the wall, photo 3 is in (near) the kitchen, on the edge of the table that borders the kitchen, if you follow the line dividing the kitchen floor and hardwood floor, it will lead you right to it.

Code in hand (5312), open the safe and grab the gun.

The clue in the next message asks you to make sure you are home at 10 O'clock. To do this we must forward time (I assume) by manipulating a clock, which is near the TV, on the wall, to the right of the TV.

The next message asks us to lock all the doors and windows, so do just that. Starting from the front door work anti-clockwise around the house (ground floor only) closing/locking all the doors and windows, be aware most windows are obscured by curtains and some curtains obscure more than one window. I counted a total of 2 doors and 6 windows that could be interacted with.

Once all the doors and curtains are closed/locked, you receive another message, after which the power goes out, you need to turn the power back on by interacting with the fuse/breaker switch, which is in the kitchen, on the wall, near the floor, behind a chair, to the right of the back door (it has a red light on it).

With the power back on you receive one final message, do exactly as it asks, and open the front door...
