Introduction
I made a collection of all the locations for Gathering/Kill/Rescue missions that aren't shown ingame up to the Major Rank missions. I suggest you first try to find those items/enemies/hostages yourself since exploring is half the fun!

That being said, there are certain missions that can be quite annoying because either the items are spread out over the whole map or the time limit is quite short. This is also for those people that are just that one item short and only have one minute left on the clock <3.

I'm a big fan of Steam community guides and the ability to use them ingame. I hope you enjoy!

Most of the templates for the maps I took from http://mercenary-kings.wikia.com/. Big thanks to that site and their contributers (special thanks to Khalietal and Irozal).

General Tips
  • The transciever is your best friend. You can use it to teleport you back to the start of the level. You can use it to drop crates with health or C4. You can even use the crate itself as a platform to easier get to certain places.
  • In some cases it's recommended to bring C4 so you don't have to go to the C4 locations in the level. I will always mention this. Note that you can always let a crate drop with C4 by using the transciever.
  • The locations are numbered. This is handy to give you a general direction in which to go. I can also tell you something more about specific locations that seem harder to reach.
  • Sometimes there are not enough chests that contain the item you need to complete gathering missions. I'll let you know when this is the case. That means there are certain mobs on the map who can drop that item and I'll show the location of those.

Recruit - Camp Makeover
Main Objective: Find 2 Pelt.

You need to find 2 pelt in this mission. There are no chests that have them, you need to kill foxes for it. I suggest you leave this mission for later till you get the Hoarder mod (guaranteed drops). It will take you less than 10 seconds to finish it if you have that mod.
Private - Fashion District

Main Objective: Find 10 Fabric.

Items on map
Colour
Fabric
Blue
Private - Bridge Failure

Main Objective: Find 10 Wood.

Items on map
Colour

Yellow

I wasn't able to find 10 chests with wood for this one.

That's not really a problem since you can go to the area in yellow on the map and kill Mandrakes for wood. Hoarder mod is suggested but not necessary. Pikemen can drop wood aswell.
Private - Jungle Hunt
Main Objective: Kill 12 Animals.

Since there are only animals here, I suggest you won't have trouble killing 12 of them!
Corporal - Crystal Prison

Hoarder mod is mandatory for this one since there aren't enough chests. You get Quality Aluminum for killing Mandrake Cannoneers, which are shown in yellow. There are also Steel Soldiers which are shown in white.
Lieutenant - Mineshaft

Captain - Tribute Cave

Main Objective: Find 5 Regular Bolt.

Secret Area
Yellow

Yay for more Bastion Dam. You can bring C4 to find a Regular Bolt in the hidden area shown in yellow. It's not mandatory and there are no C4 locations on the map for as far as I know.

Note that there are a couple of locations that are relatively hard to get to.
  • Location 1: Drop from the top of a platform onto the chest or drop a crate with your transciever and use that as a platform.
  • Location 4: You need C4 to get to this one. You can either bring C4 or let it drop with a crate or just skip it entirely. I would opt for bringing C4 since the other bolts are relatively out of the way.
  • Location 5: Before the door that leads to location 6 you can drop down onto an electric floor thing which you need to roll through to get to the end. There is a chest with a regular bolt there.
  • Location 7: You need to drop from the top to get this one.
Captain - The Thinktank

Main Objective: Rescue 6 hostages.

There is only one chest with it for as far as I know. You need kill Exterminators (big dog shaped scary robots) to drop the other one. Unfortunately it's not a common drop. I'm not entirely sure if it counts as a rare item though. If you use the hoarder mod it drops materials all the time but less chance for rare ones. I personally did have reasonable success getting it to drop with Hoarder mod and less so with the Lucky Penny mod (higher chance for rare materials). Maybe equip both? I'm not sure which one to recommend here.
Colonel - Human Subjects

Main Objective: Rescue 16 Hostages.

Where can I get the Quality Aramid in Material Recovery?
SwordSaint 2 Aug, 2014 @ 11:07pm
On Material Recovery for Adamantite, I used Lucky Penny/Lucky Penny and had much much better results than Hoarder/Lucky Penny, still an absolutely annoying mission. Great job on the guide though, thanks!!
