The problem
The latest version of Disciples III: Renaissance was left with a bug which prevented some people from accessing the final battle and therefore leaving them unable to finish the game. One of the final objectives of the "Elven Alliance Campaign: Act 7 - Angel's Heart" requires you to "Destroy the Inquisition Castle", referring to the Human Empire's capital city. Regardless of whether or not you have destroyed the human capital before or after this objective is unlocked, it will remain undone. You may uncover the entire map and advance past the human capital (fighting any enemies along your path) towards a glowing glyph on the ground, which, when stepped on, will trigger a small cut-scene. After this cut-scene the game will place you back on the glyph with no new objectives and no way to proceed into the game's final battle. You will be stuck here.
The solution
A Czech fan translation team managed to fix the problem a few years ago, the solution was simply to replace the file "elves_7.scene" with a version that they had amended. This file is located in the Resources folder of the Disciples III steam folder (on windows 7 the file-path to this should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\disciples 3\Resources" unless you have changed the file location yourself.)

When I went looking for the solution myself there was very little information about this, and any links directed towards the fixed file were dead. Luckily, I managed to track down the Czech fan patch and extract the fixed version of "elves_7.scene".

The fixed version I am currently hosting on mega.nz and it is publicly available for all to download. I have provided a link to this file just below.

Link to the fixed version of "elves_7.scene"[mega.nz]

mega(dot)nz/#!PJdhwTyK!SA3AeUKYea7p5FFqBXR5lXEDtwoRTSvL6bSQqWm7DL8 (direct link not available, paste this url into your browser, replace (dot) with a .)
(edited: 03/10/2015 - fixed broken link)
(edited: 06/11/2017 - steam filter removed direct links, provided url as replacement)

I strongly recommend that you create a back up for the original elves_7.scene file before you attempt to replace it with this one just in case something does go wrong. If you do encounter problems and lose the original file always remember that you can simply verify the integrity of your game via steam and it will re-download any missing files without affecting anything else.
Purpose of this guide
The purpose of this guide is simply to make the information a bit more permanent. Like I mentioned before when I was originally confronted with the problem I found information about it difficult to find and the solution even more difficult to find.

You can find the original thread that prompted my search for the fix here on the Disciples III: Renaissance community hub, along with the testimonials of those who have applied the fix and verified that it does indeed work. With forum threads liable to get pushed into obscurity or get deleted altogether I figured it would be a real shame for people to lose access to a fix on a fairly frustrating bug.

Please note that I do not make any claims for developing this fix, that honor goes strictly to the Czech translation team who created it in the first place, I am simply here to make sure people are aware and have access to said fix.

Anyways, I can just hope this helps a few people out.

Thank you for the solution! Just replaced that file, loaded my last save, went to the red circle again and that was it!

rather just have the file line change instead as downloading a file for something you can edit directly the conditions is rather silly(it's a mostly unencrypted file, what is encrypted may well just be "background" coding that is relatively pointless to modify to fix this if it's a matter of the check failing...)

From looks of it, it's trying to complete objective "15" which isn't being defined in the file from the looks(there's a lot of completeobjectives and addobjectives, some with dialogue that may be lacking the addobjective line to their list.... oddity... without playing the mission directly to confirm the dialogue I can't reference the files to find the culprit either)

Many thx, worked for me fine, even without redoing the whole map. Old save where my heroes beat around the mark without any effect now worked fine!

The file is still there, at the same address. Make sure you typed it in correctly and replaced the (dot) with a .
