Description
The winter version of this map (see below for link) is now in the official lineup as a part of the Winter 2022 Polar Distress Update. This version is still maintained as a legacy version for anyone who still wants access to the original.

Note:
This is a legacy version of Crash. It is still kept up to date, however the primary version can be located here

It is recommended that you play that version, as it represents the way I always intended for the map to look. This version is simply here to serve as a Legacy version for those who wish to still try it, or for those who prefer it over the new one.
Regardless, both this version and the other version are kept up-to-date simultaenously.
You can be subscribed to both versions of the map simultaneously, with no issues. They are completely standalone of each other.


A Horzine cargo train travelling through the English countryside has crashed at an industrial plant, starting a ZED outbreak in the area. You are a group of Horzine mercenaries dispatched to the area to dispose of the threat, secure the cargo, and eliminate the ZED leader!

Crash is my first KF2 level, made in about 1.5 months primarily as a way to learn the editor. It is designed for Endless Mode, but can be played on any gametype including VS Survival. Objective Mode support may be added at a later date. The primary feature of this map is the fiery trainwreck at the center. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor areas, and a sewer system that runs beneath the map a la Burning Paris.

There is plenty of high ground in this map, providing lots of sniping positions for Sharpshooters and vantage points for Field Medics. Watch the rooftops and vents though!


Quick Q/A
Q: Why have you decided to fork two versions of the map?
A: Simple answer: because this version of the map employs a completely different theme, and I wanted to keep the two versions separate, as some players may prefer the old theme over the new one.

It represents my original view for the map's design and look, and has plenty of custom content. You can think of it as a '2.0' version.

Q: Which version is more up to date?
A: Neither. Both this version and the Night version of Crash will be simultaneously kept up-to-date. Again, the versions differ purely in their theme(s).

Q: Do I have to unsubscribe from the other version in order to play this one?
A: No. Subscribing to both will not cause any conflicts whatsosever. Feel free to subscribe to both at the same time!




Advanced Traversal


Scattered around the level, you will see painted arrows (pictured above) near ledges and drop-offs. These arrows indicate that one can utilize the Double-barreled Boomstick or the Doomstick to perform a Recoil Force Boost to reach the ledge or cross the gap. If you aren't familiar with this mechanic, I wrote an entire guide about it, which you can find here. For those who are familiar, think of it as another way to get around the map quickly.

Tamari's KF2 Servers


Tamari's KF2 is a KF2 community of over 800 Members that I operate alongside Forrest Mark X that aims to bring a modded experience to KF2 that enhances the game through quality-of-life features and changes, new gamemodes, and a chill and close-knit environment. We're a multi-continental KF2 community supporting the NA and EU regions, and now also Southeast Asia / Australia as well!

Our objective is primarily to introduce people to the Controlled Difficulty mod, but we have something fun for players of basically all skill levels and preferences.
We don't like drama and try our best to maintain a stress-free environment that feels more like a small gaming family than a group of friends playing games together.

These are not your typical modded servers. The mods in use aim to enhance the vanilla experience as opposed to drastically changing it. As such, you can expect to find features that remedy some of the more clunky aspects of vanilla KF2 gameplay as well as features that allow players to customize their experience(s). We also have lots of customized content that builds on the original game, such as 25 additional Prestige Levels (with unique badges), 187 custom Server Achievements, and custom gamemodes like Arms Race, True Endless, and ZED Wars.

i don't know why but everytime i start either crash or crash (night) i fall through the floor

- Altered the rooftop spawn at the center of the map so that it can no longer spawn Larges

Before commenting, please keep in mind that this is a legacy version of Crash.

Both versions are kept up to date simultaneously, so any issues you find in this one will be fixed in the other as well. I still -highly recommend- you play the other version linked above though, because it represents my 'final' effort with the map. It's also more seasonal!
