Republic of Korea - 1970 (DISCONTINUED)

Omschrijving
My first mod! (But its actually just a config.)

Hey everyone! Unfortunately, I am discontinuing this mod, at least for now. I simply do not have the resources and experience necessary to achieve the level of ambition I have for this config, and I don't want to lead you guys on with the promise of a new update. The main concern is vehicles and equipment. Unsung contains all of the vehicles and equipment I need, but I'm not going to unload a 20gb mod on you guys, just to use a tiny fraction of it. Unsung also changes the base game voice files and the equipment quality isn't that great (no offence to the Unsung team of course, its a great mod.) If any of you have modding experience and would like to help, leave a comment on my profile and send me a friend request so I know you aren't a bot. Maybe we can try to figure something out! Thanks for your understanding and patience.

A Brief Summary
Originally, this config was only intended for personal use in a 2nd Korean War scenario I'm doing that is set in 1970 (of course). There are no ROK faction mods/configs set in the 60s/70s aside from Unsung, which I wasn't quite satisfied with. So, I decided to take it into my own hands! I started putting some real time into it and decided that, with all the work im putting into it, and the lack of ROK factions in general on the Workshop, I'd go ahead and upload it for everyone to enjoy. It is far from perfect, but its working and I've been wanting to get into the world of Arma 3 modding for a while, so I think this is a decent start.

What is included?
For infantry: Squad Leader, 3 Rifleman variants, Marksman, Submachinegunner, Machinegunner, Asst. Machinegunner, Flamethrower, Asst. Flamethrower, Grenadier, Medic, Engineer, Armor Crew and Helicopter Crew. I may have missed some, thats just off the top of my head. All use Vietnam Era US gear.
Three Huey Variants (Gunship, Armed, and Unarmed)
M109 Artillery, an Assault Boat, and an M113
A Low and a High M2 Turret

So what now?
Well, I'd like to possibly turn this into a series of configs for my scenario project. I want to make some NATO factions, like the US, Britain, Japan, France, etc. with Chinese and Nork factions for Opfor. I might get REALLY crazy and try my hand at mapping, but I don't want to make any promises in regards to that.

Final Notes
Keep in mind, this is the first... "anything" that I've ever made for Arma 3, so don't expect anything "blow your pants off!" amazing. This is just something I started in my spare time, which I have a lot of. With that being said, bug reports, suggestions, and general advice is welcome! I aim to improve, and I'll try to do my best! Sorry for the amount of mods, too. I tried to keep it short. It originally had CUP in there! Imagine that. Anyway, have fun. I hope you enjoy my little project! :D

PS. Thanks to all the people who made the addons use by the config! Wouldn't be possible otherwise.

@GAME Unfortunately, I am discontinuing this mod, at least for now. I simply do not have the resources and experience necessary to achieve the level of ambition I have for this config. If you can provide me with the assets I need, I'd be happy to try to find a way to implement them, but my modding experience is extremely limited.

Also, on the topic of their camouflage, ROK used OD through the 70s, with vine leaf camo on their helmets. The Capital Garrison Command uses the duckhunter camo.

@DickLouden Yeah, its one of my favorite aspects of working on this pack! Its an interesting mix between the old and the new (for the time at least.) I think I'm going to do Japan next, because they're of a similar nature.

It would be cool to see more of these non super-power factions with their mix of old lend-lease and homebrew gear mixed in with modernish weapons!

@Keemseemsmeen The next update will completely revamp the faction, and with the new gear the units are getting, they'll generally be pretty interchangeable between the 1970s and 1980s. I'm not sure when I'll get the update out, mainly because this relies on other addons to work, which is less than convenient. A lot of the time, the addons don't fit the historical accuracy I'm looking for. I'd go in and reskin and make models myself, but I've got no idea how to do that.

How about a 1980s faction?

Ok, thank you for your reply and for the effort. Keep up! :) :) :)

@Jeguk I'm not sure. I'm completely rebuilding the pack from the ground up, including some reskinning. I'm new to this stuff, so I'm pretty slow with it.
