Opis
Vehicle History
Developed under the Kestrel project, the IJ-17 was intended to be a training fighter. However with the preparation for war underway it was clear a more long range interceptor was needed to protect bomber forces during the first assault wave. As such the IJ-17’s blueprints were radically changed to increase its range and fuel efficiency. A New stealth body with composite materials help reduce its radar signature. New sensory equipment was also installed to aid with night operations. Weaponry was reduced to save weight and reduce drag on the jet. To compensate for this a new missile was developed. The TAGG 9 missile was designed to accurately engage enemies from beyond visual range. Final tests were completed in late November and the aircraft entered service as the IJ-17 BLAZE.

About the Build
The design is a mix of an F22 and an F14 and is named after BLAZE (the protagonist of Ace Combat 5). It is completely vanilla and uses no DLC. The BLAZE interceptor lacks a landing gear (because let’s face it landing gear are way too ugly). I recommend using the aerodynamics mod as it makes the handling much better. In vanilla this will behave like most SE jets. It is fast forwards and movement in all other directions is minor. Maneuverability is good in most axis, however rolling is rather slow as there is multiple subgrids on it. The tail rotor can be moved to the straight position and this will increase your roll rate. Otherwise, in terms of performance and weapons it is pretty standard for SE. I also have included a cruising mode for long distance travel.

@Endermite_1007 I did not include landing gears or connectors. I don't like the way they look. Much to bulky and ugly for my taste. There is plenty of room on the bottom center for you to retrofit a connector or landing gears if you wish.

landing? i crated the ship but noticed no connectors nor landing gear.

@KhanTheMad, It looks like a jet because it is a jet. It is not a spacecraft. It can't go into space. As for design I'm perfectly happy with how it is. I wanted to make something good looking and still functional not something that will beat everything else in performance. If you're looking for something purely performance based then there are plenty of others to chose from in the workshop. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted out of a fighter but I am perfectly happy with it as it is.
