Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents the Deep Reach planetary miner, a vanilla small-grid design without mods or DLC, and contains no rotors or pistons making it a perfect survival-ready solution for large mining projects. Designed as a high-capacity vertical miner with a low center of gravity for maximum stability, the Deep Reach planetary miner extracts ores effortlessly with its 36 optimally-spaced drills, and transports ore in 10 large and 2 medium cargo containers. With the exception of the planet Pertam, the maximum lift capacity of this ship exceeds the carrying capacity of all available storage, i.e., 10 large cargo containers, 2 medium cargo containers, 36 drills, connector, and cockpit, and requires 4 large reactors and 4 large batteries for power.

NOTE: Ingame scripts (in advanced settings) must be enabled for the autolevel script to function! Thanks to Dixie Normas for the autolevel script: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1366126191

NO MODS, NO DLC, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTOR BUILDABLE!

NOTES FOR BUILDING WITH A PROJECTOR IN SURVIVAL
See the last picture for the projector's configuration.
1. Build a rotor frame on a powered grid; remove the large-grid rotor head and replace with a small-grid rotor head; lock rotation.
2. Stack 6 armor blocks, minimum, vertically above the small-grid rotor head to provide sufficient clearance for building the miner.
3. Build a small-grid projector on top of the topmost armor block; for consistency, rename the projector to be "DRM - Projector".
4. Load the blueprint into the projector; click on the setting to retain the blueprint after construction is complete.
5. Build the blueprint.
6. When completed, grind away the small-grid rotor head, armor blocks, and rotor frame, leaving the projector in place for future repairs.

Yes and no. If you want to collect stone, you'll need to reverse the feed on the ore-only sorters and turn off the stone-only sorters; you can leave the ejectors alone since stone won't be going to them. I've hidden a lot of the components from showing in the control menu, so open the control menu and click the "eye" to make the hidden components visible. Now select "DRM - Small Conveyor Sorter 01" through "DRM - Small Conveyor Sorter 36" (you can select all 36 at once) and turn them off. Finally, individually select "DRM - Small Sorter - Ore 1" through "DRM - Small Sorter - Ore 4" and change the filter from "blacklist" to "whitelist". Now the miner will collect stone. Change everything back if you want to collect ore again.

Is there a way to turn off the ejectors in case i want the stone?
Spaceman Spiff  [Autor] 31. Dez. 2024 um 14:28
Sorry. Nope. Connectors don't unload unless you stick a sorter behind it to suck everything out of the miner's cargo containers toward the connector. Even then, the connector itself will not unload. The best solution is have the station's connector followed by a sorter that sucks everything out of the ship. Or use Isy's Inventory Manager script and it'll do it automatically for you without sorters.

cant get the front connector to unload stuff automatically i have to always drag out from the ship to the base

I just finished some testing and found the ejectors working properly. Perhaps you need to exit SE and restart. Let me know if you're still having problems. Thanks.

I'll check it out.

Ejectors are not ejecting stone for me.

Four batteries added to the blueprint (see change notes).

Yea, I know they change stuff sometimes. I appreciate it.

I'm going to rework the design to add power (probably more batteries) because the design is anemic from a power standpoint (I don't seem to remember this being a problem before, but it's a problem now).

Let me know if power was your problem. Thanks.
