Introduction
In this guide ill show you how to use the Tank Steering Controller and how to build a (simple) vehicle.
Tank Steering Controler
The Tank Steering Controller is a core part of the mod. It is used to calculate the path and to steer the vehicle to the destiantion.

Fist of all ill explain the outputs of the Tank Steering Controller
To steer the vehicle the Tank Steering Controller needs to be connected to two Output Pins.
The first Output Pin that is connected will be active if the controler wants the right side to be active (turn left).
The secound Output Pin that is connected will be active if the controler wants the left side to be
active (turn right).
If both are on than the controler want to drive straight and with no output active it wants to stay still.

Secound i want to explain the inputs for the Tank Steering Controller.
The Tank Steering Controller needs 12 address inputs (switches or logic gates).
Also the Tank Steering Controller needs on button connected to it to give it an impulse so it knows that it needs to calculate the path.
NOTE: The colors are importent for the Tank Steering Controller to know which address is configured
Building the vehicle
After the theorie behind the Tank Steering Controller its time to acutaly build a vehicle!

1) Build a 6x3 metal plate.
2) Place the controler at the front of the plate.
3) Place two Output Pins and connect the controler to the outputs.
4) Place two engines and connect them to the weels
5) Place two logic gates and connect the Output Pins and connect the gates to the correct engines.
6) Place a button and a switch on the back of the vehicle and connect the switch to the logic gates and the button to the controler.
7) Place 12 buttons on top of the vehicle (the engines) and color them as seen below. Also connect them to the controler.
8) [Optional] Customize the vehicle e.g.
  • color the vehicle (every part can be colored except the button on the back and the switches on top)
  • add lights to the vehicle
  • add sensors to detect other vehicles and to stop the vehicle so that they dont collide

I hope this guide was helpful! Have fun building more complex vehicles :)

It's some time since I last used it but once you have the grid set up you generate the roadmap on the access block (simple e press) that register the vehicle to the grid and than select the address with the buttons on top and than start the vehicle with the switch and button on the back)

Ill think about that but im not sure if it fits in this mod

What about a converter that accepts values, then directly connects to the controller, that way you can attach a device to a creation that can get its own position, send it wirelessly to the controller, and BOOM! A car that can find your long lost creations FOR YOU!!

There is one reason why I decided against coordinates: usability (it is hard to remember multiple coordinates)

I think it would be better if you could use XYZ coordinates as values. eg. red=X, yellow=Y, blue=Z

did you connect it to an accesspoint? (btw im working on a system that uses number logic and gives more freedom to the user)

i did everything correctly but still no result... how do i make it drive

The car drives by itself. You enter the address with the buttons on the top in binary and press the button on the back so it calculates the path. After that you can press the switch on the back and it should start to drive.
