Introduction
Like the first game before it, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two has an expansive ConfigFile.ini file that contains configuration values, many of which can be changed to yield visible changes in-game. Unfortunately, the 8,211 line file can be hard to navigate due to the sheer number of values and leftover values from both the first game and the development of Epic Mickey 2 that no longer work.

To make it easier for future tinkerers to play with the config values, I’ve created a list of various notable values that can be changed along with the effects they have on the game. Note that this is by no means a comprehensive list; I am not claiming to have tested every single value. If you happen to find anything of interest, let me know and I’ll add it to this list.
Modifying config values

The game directory can be accessed by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, hovering over “Manage”, and clicking “Browse local files”. In the root of this directory lies the ConfigFiles.ini file.

There are two ways to modify config values:
  1. The recommended method is creating a ConfigOverride.ini file and adding values in there. Despite there not already being one there, the game secretly looks for a ConfigOverride.ini file in the game directory. As the filename implies, it overrides the values in ConfigFiles.ini without having to modify the file itself, making it easier to revert back to default settings if needed.
  2. Alternatively, you can directly modify ConfigFiles.ini. It is recommended that you back up the original file so you can reset your changes if anything goes wrong.
Sample ConfigOverride.ini file
Below is a sample ConfigOverride.ini file that you can use. All values are set to their default. See the table below for more detailed information.

; Level select on main menu ShowDevLevelLoad=false ; Shows translation keys instead of text TranslateKeys=true ; Enable all abilities (brush, sketches, spin move etc.) PlayerEnableAllAbilities=false ; Unlimited paint/thinner PlayerInfiniteAmmo=false ; Startup logo sequence (set to "0" to disable, including quotes) FinalStartUpMovieSequence="LOGO_JPS.bik:0:LOGO_Blitz.bik:0:LOGO_havok.bik:0:LOGO_Autodesk.bik:0:LOGO_Disney.bik:0" ; Skip certain in-engine cutscenes at the start of levels SkipIGCs=false ; Adjustable FOV - DO NOT SET TO 360+ CameraFieldOfView=60 ; Disables animations and dialogue audio for all NPCs SkinOnlyPlayers=false
Value reference
Key
Default Value
Description
ShowDevLevelLoad
false
This is perhaps the most useful value. Changing this to true replaces the “Quit”‌ button on the main menu with a level select button, allowing you to jump to any level in the game with ease. To exit the game, press Alt+F4. Some levels may be buggy and unstable when loaded this way. If a level is not loading, try pausing and unpausing. Warning: This WILL‌ change your save file.
TranslateKeys
true
Setting this to false shows the translation keys instead of the game text. For example:‌ UI_NewGame instead of “New Game”. Can’t imagine much of a use for this, but it’s there.
PlayerEnableAllAbilities
false
Enables all abilities, even in levels where they’re not yet unlocked (spin move, brush, sketches etc). Note: Does not work at the first level in the game, even if loaded with ShowDevLevelLoad. This flag is overridden after the cutscene plays.
PlayerInfiniteAmmo
false
Lets‌ Mickey use unlimited ammo. A very useful cheat.
FinalStartUpMovieSequence
"LOGO_JPS.bik:0:LOGO_Blitz.bik:0:
LOGO_havok.bik:0:LOGO_Autodesk
.bik:0:LOGO_Disney.bik:0"
The sequence of cutscenes played at the start of the game. Setting this to “0” (including quotes) will bypass the starting sequence completely, making the game start up way quicker.
SkipIGCs
false
Skips certain in-engine cutscenes, such as the opening to Mean Street‌ North and Disney Gulch.
CameraFieldOfView
60
Change the FOV of the game. Warning:‌ Setting the FOV to 360 or above will result in flashing colors. If you are epileptic, do not try this.
SkinOnlyPlayers
false
Changing this to true humorously causes all NPCs to not animate or play dialogue audio, leading them to glide around motionless. Pointless, but funny.[/b]
