To open your build menu, press "Q." However, this may vary depending on your keybind, so be sure to check what your keybind is set to in the settings menu.

After you have opened your build menu, click any of the icons listed before you. As soon as you click it, close the menu by taking your finger off of the "Q" button (assuming that is your keybind.)

Freezing props is the the third most important thing after placing props and opening your build menu. To freeze a prop, you must right click it while holding it. To unfreeze it, simply click the prop with your primary trigger.

Continue to place and freeze props until you get the gist of it. Then move onto larger scale projects, like making a house of shipping containers. Remember to freeze your props! If you keep doing this task over and over again for days on end, you will eventually make something like this:
