Description
[Vanilla|Survival Ready|Subgrids]

A simple placeable and fully conveyored turret with 12 gatling-guns.

It is set up to work with all major turret scripts (choose one), except the Diamond Dome Defense script, cause it can't handle dual elevation rotor turrets.

It basically consists of two R-60C Hex guns mounted on a rotor base. The turret includes a medium cargo container to stockpile some ammo incase the conveyor line to the turret breaks. In fact, the container can hold so much ammo, you don't even need to conveyor it at all. Once it's filled, the guns can fire for minutes on end.

Some stats:
-Blocks: 166
-PCU: 2180
-Mass: 10.1 t
-Max-Angle: [-20°] - [90°] Up

Setup:
Choose one of the three turret scripts and follow the instructions:

A: Whip's Turret AI Slaving Script - complicated setup, lots of customization, very reliable
1.-Make a hole for your turret (3x3) (you can fill in the sides later)
2.-Place a single turret on your ship
3.-Rename Turret Group X (change the X to a,b,c or something) (delete the old Turret Group X!!)
4.-Place one or more AI turrets close by and include them in the group (interior turrets work well here)
5.-Nametag all AI turrets with 'Designator', e.g. "Interior Turret 2 Designator"
6.-Repeat step 2-5 as many times as you want
7.-Delete the group called DDS Turrets
8.-Place a programmable block on your ship and load Whip's script

B: Diamond Dome Defense Script - medium setup, some customization, +tilt-lock reload
1.-Make a hole for your turret (3x3) (you can fill in the sides later)
2.-Place turret on your ship (as many as you want)
3.-Place at least one AI turret on your ship (interior turrets work well here)
4.-Group all AI turrets as 'DDS Designators'
5.-Delete the group called Turret Group X
6.-Place a programmable block on your ship and load the Diamond Dome script
8.-Recompile script if you add more turrets

B: Rdav's Easy Auto Turret Script - simple setup, limited options
1.-Make a hole for your turret (3x3) (you can fill in the sides later)
2.-Place turret on your ship (as many as you want)
3.-Place at least one AI turret on your ship (interior turrets work well here)
4.-Delete all groups
5.-Place a programmable block on your ship and load Rdav's script

yes sure, you just have to change the setup a little bit. I think it's pretty much the same as for whips turret ai slaving script, just without the ai turrets and a cockpit in the group instead. also the group name should be MART abc instead of Turret Group abc

Are any of your turrets able to be made manual by using whip's MART?

Nice design... I remember making an 8 gatling gun pod a while back in survival and it was called the Shredder too. But it was more like a cannon because it didn't move like a turret.

do u fancy joining me for some assembly madness?

Sounds awesome, but pretty difficult aswell, I mean none of these grids even have any merge blocks. I would love to see it in action if you can manage to make it work.

i was thinking of making an assembly plant that can be customised to make and fix any sorta multigrid object in survival. like a small semi automated, fully modular factory, what say you major?
Major Jon  [author] 30 Jan, 2020 @ 7:19am
No, the problem is that the projector can only project one grid, but this consists of four: base rotor, middle section and two arms. You can add the base rotor yourself, but the three other grids have to be projected separately.

If I pat it in creative an just grind off the rotor an save the rest then would it outright cut it the rotor that's causing the problem right? Cus the rotor is large block and the rest is small block?

Sadly projectors still don't project subgrids, making it pretty difficult to build any custom turret in survival. What you can do is paste it in in a creative world, detach all rotors, blueprint the parts individually, project and weld them in your survival world and then attach them to the rotors.
