Blaze's Classic Alien Slave Voice (Xen Update Compatible)

Descripción
Do you miss the Alien Slave's weird bug sounds? So did I. There are other mods on the workshop that do similar things, but they seemed to get broken by the Xen update, and I didn't want to wait for them to get fixed.

You might have to type "snd_restart" in the console once you load in to a map to get this to work. It's a glitch with all Workshop sound mods right now. If you can't get it to work, it's the Black Mesa team's fault (or maybe even Valve's fault) for not fixing the bug. All of my data is in the right order.

Q: Will you be doing any more classic sound packs?
A: Probably not, no. I generally like most of Black Mesa's sound direction for guns and creatures, I just didn't agree with using Half-Life 2-style Vortigaunt voices.

I have no plans to right at this second, but maybe some day. The future is uncertain.

Will you update on how they talk in Xen?

I don't know why they felt its important to change their voices for that lame deep voice. Their unique sound made me jump every time I heard.

This voice pack works fantastic with my alien slave model. The normal vort voices just don't work very well with it.

I like the slave voice - normal voice compromise.

Well they have cowering sounds and talking sounds now yeah. No mod really covers that yet sadly

Probably not, no. It changes all of the sounds in the sound/npc/alien_slave folder. Those are probably stored in the VO folder. I'm actually still playing through Black Mesa and haven't reached Xen yet, so I did not know about that scene. However, I did notice in the NPC folder, there are sounds that have them transition to and from a mind-controlled state, which I did modify to give the impression that when they are free of the mind control, they revert to having human voices -- like the mind control is what makes them sound like monsters.

Does this change their voices when they talk to you on Xen?
