You can get fist earlier if you want too to play more aggressive but you really should hit level 3 on it as soon as you can if you want to do a lot of ganking.

You don't max Bolas over Fist first lulz, Bolas scales terribly and Ember lacks the mana to spam it. Better spam Fist than Bolas
