Thanks for the compliment about the guides I have. They're all listed under the "secret" category. Unfortunately, the guide for the coal engine is missing images due to Steam loosing them. The images I need are on a computer I no longer have.
Finally, 14 component production lines per bar is a lot. You will not notice the marginal increase of having 15 production lines. It's fast enough to consume all the bars you could be stuffing into it during the early-mid game. Once you get to Frozen Factory, then you can 2-3x the throughput using motorized conveyors, minecarts, etc...
First, the only way to get bars down the center without a turntable, is to use hoppers to transfer through contact with another hopper. But, logic hoppers don't hold enough to make the throughput fast enough to keep up with all the production lines you have. Minihoppers hold more, but their throughput rate is too slow. Basically, too many hoppers cause the bars to stockpile, instead of turning into components. IMO, the fewer hoppers used, the better.
