Proper setting for spinner speed in Tempest
By Tempest
Default setting for speed of spinner, which controls the claw, is too fast in Atari Vault.

Setting that controls speed of claw is in the mouse settings in Windows 10. This is accessed in Windows 10 "settings" > "devices" > "mouse", point to "related settings" "additional mouse options". Under Mouse Properties, select "pointer options", under "motion" "select a pointer speed" slide indicator (default is in the middle) over to third line from left. Select "apply" then "ok".

This will make the claw move 5 lanes per 360 degrees of rotation of a TurboTwist 2 or similarly sized spinner, which is approximately the speed of the spinner in the original arcade version of Tempest.

Dear Hijong Park, this is specifically directed towards true spinners, but addresses trackball mouse controllers, too. When I use the Logitech Marble Mouse, the claw moves too fast, when using the default settings in Windows 10. Changing the settings as indicated slows the claw down to a speed that approximates the speed that it moves in the original arcade game.

Will this apply to trackball mouse as well ?

You're welcome. You will find it makes a huge difference and will make the game feel more like the original.
