Introduction
Hello, Thank you in advance for reading my guide, I hope you will learn something new today!

I always wanted a proper aiming guide that helps with what you should do, and why you should do it in order to improve at the given game.
There are a lot of good one's out there, I gathered a lot of information, by reading articles, forums, watching videos, and a lot of experimenting (still doing experiments with different exercises, routines etc., will update the guide).
I'll try and justify the what's and why's, why you should practice something, what could potentially hurt your aim, etc.
Warmup
We will start with warming up our hands, warming up is really important, just like in sports.
You absolutely want to avoid any damage to your hands/wrist. Note:(I am not a doctor by any means, this is common sense.)
It's good to stretch not just your hands, but maybe your whole arm, neck, and shoulders.
There are a couple of great youtubers out there who can give you advice on these topics, that I recommend you to check out and put together a 5-10 minute hand/wrist stretch routine that you'll do everyday.
I ususally stretch right after waking up, before playing, after games and before going to bed.

Before warming up make sure to stretch your hands to avoid any injury!
This is a pretty good routine to follow every day, 3 times a day.

Now for warming up your "game" you can't go wrong with playing 15-30 minutes of KZ or Surf.
(Usually I skip KZ/Surfing, and Warmup in Aim-Botz.)
Load up AimBotz
Depending on you, do 5-10 minutes of 1 tap, burst and spray on the static bots. Try to be as accurate as you can be.

What you wanna focus when warming up is, you want to get your blood flowing, get the feel for the mouse, the game, your sensitivity and wake your hands up, if you still don't feel warmed up, make a fist with your hand then open it, do this about for 20-30 times.
Raw Aim Training
In this section we will train our raw aim, this is like those web-browser based aim trainers, except this is going to be beneficial for us, as we will be in a 3D environment and not in 2D, most importantly in our choice of game, CSGO.

Required map:
TrainingAimCSGOdark

Let me go through a couple of settings here to help you a little.

When you first load up the map, I recommend you to enter the following commands to make your life a little easier and make things nice and clean!

r_drawviewmodel 0 - Hides the weapon model, so it won't bother you when looking at the targets.
cl_draw_only_deathnotices 1 - Hides the HUD
weapon_accuracy_nospread 1 - Disables the randomness of bullets, thus your weapon will be 100% accurate, which is what we want, we want to eliminate any randomness.
weapon_recoil_scale 0 - Removes recoil of the gun.

Now we get a clear picture of the target practice area, nice and clean.

Weapon:
I recommend you to pick up the USP-S Pistol, as it is silenced and you can't accidentally spray with it. But feel free to experiment to see what works best for you.
Target Size:
As for the settings, try a bigger target, if you find yourself missing a lot on smaller targets, and keep increasing the size over time as you get accurate. You want to build a good foundation of aiming here, meaning that you don't overflick, or underflick the target.

If you are a beginner, try something like 16, or perhaps 12, if you think it's too easy. For advanced players 10 and especially 8 is a good challenge.
When i started out I could barely hit 60 on 12, and now i average at 80-85 on 8.
If you get comfortable hitting the target for let's say an average of 75-80, then it's a good time to challenge yourself and decrease the size of the target.

Target Color:
For the color, I always switch to pure red, as that's easier for me to see, but some of my friends like white better. You decide here.

The Amount you wanna set to 100.

Delay:
To start with, 0,50 is fine, 0,25 for advanced players, but I find 0,25 works better, because this way you can also train your reactions.

Target Duration:
Static Target Duration should be at 0,75 for beginners, and 0,50 for advanced players, so you have time to react to the pop-up target and move your crosshair to the target.

Now that we got our settings set-up, do 10-15 minutes of flicking to the targets popping up, you don't have to be fast here, build a good foundation once again, and speed will come with time, you don't play a Dragonforce song after picking up the guitar.(Unless you've been playing already for a long time.)

Routine:
- 10-15 minutes of Aim Training
Tracking Training
Tracking is not that important in CSGO, in games like Overwatch it's much more important there.
So feel free to skip this part.

For tracking, we're going to use two maps, the good old TrainingAimCSGOdark
and FAST AIM/REFLEX MAP

Method #1

Let's start with the Training Aim one.
You want to change a couple of settings here to have a dynamic target that moves left-right, up-down.

What you want to change is the target from color to HEAD.

We are going to set-up the pace of the target. 250 is what the speed that the player runs at with a knife. There's no point going above this numeric value. 200 is recommended here.
As for the Target Duration, go with Infinite, we want to have the head to stay there indefinitely.

Now to begin this, we might need to find a good position for the head to slide at. Shoot at the head until you find a good horizontal spot for the head around the middle.

Go to the 2nd level and what you want to do here, is keep your crosshair on the moving target the best you can. If you feel like you grip your mouse too tight, relax your hands, perhaps take a few seconds of break to re-gain your focus.

Method #2

The second method is going to have a little bit of more variety in it.
Load up the FAST AIM/REFLEX MAP map.
(Tip:To increase the performance on the map type this in the console: mp_maxrounds 0
This eliminated the stuttering I got in that map for me.)

Also type in the console: bot_dont_shoot 1 - So that the bots won't attack you.

Position yourself in one of the corners and simply start tracking the heads of the bots, don't just move your crosshair to the head of the bot, stay there for a little before shooting, thus training tracking of the heads.

Routine:
-Do either one for 5 minutes a day, if you feel like do both of them for 5-5 minutes each.
Hand/Wrist Exercises
This is probably the most important section, your health is more important than your aim.

DrLevi has a great playlist with precious advice for gamers and office workers that will ensure that you keep yourself safe from injuries.

How To RAPIDLY Increase Grip Strength and Wrist Stability

**Start your day with stretches, and chug a big glass of water
After being asleep all night, we wake up every day slightly dehydrated, if you are not properly hydrated, body processes do not work as efficiently.**

If you feel that your wrist is starting to hurt stop playing, take a break.

Not going to list all of his videos by categories, just go through the entire playlist and you should be good to go.
Consistency
"Consistency is so important because it is one thing that separates the very best in every sport from the rest."

The following is a great article from Huffpost by Dr. Jim Taylor.

Keep in mind you can't be cosistent without playing in a team,in MM for example, every opponent you face has different playstyles, also you can't be consistent playing with random teammates.

Consistent Effort

You must be consistent in all aspects of your training efforts. When you train, whether in the gym or on the course, court, field, track, hill, or wherever you perform your sport, you need to exert maximum and consistent effort. You must be in your best physical condition including strength, agility, and stamina. You have to be technically and tactically consistent in your sport with no major flaws that can lead to inconsistency. If your sport requires equipment (e.g., tennis, golf, sailing, cycling), your equipment must be consistently well prepared. And, of course, your mental training must be consistently done.

Consistent Life

Many athletes think that as long as they do what is necessary in their athletic life that will be enough to achieve their goals. But I have found that often isn’t enough. Instead, what you do away from your sport, in your regular life, also has an impact on your ability to perform consistently well. In other words, perform consistently, you must lead a consistent life. The consistency of your sleep also plays an important role. Consistent sleep will ensure that you are rested enough for consistently high performances. Being consistent in your school work also has an influence. If you are stressed out because you are behind in your homework or you aren’t prepared for a big exam coming up, you have little chance to performing consistently well.Lastly, if your relationships, whether family or friends, are turbulent, you will not be in a place emotionally where you can be consistent.

Consistent Mind

A consistent mind begins with consistent attitudes toward your sport in which you see it as a challenge, not a threat, think about the process, not results, have a long-term perspective on your sport, and you’re willing to take the necessary risks to perform at a consistently high level.

You should train everyday,(occasional breaks are ok) to ensure you are doing your best, if you feel like you are doing bad, just remember it's impossible to avoid having a bad day, even shroud had/had bad days.

DeathMatch; The proper way
When you decide to Deathmatch to have a little variety in your training routine, you want to TRAIN your aim, you should focus on a specific area that you want to improve, do you want to improve your tapping? go for 1 taps and refrain yourself from spraying no matter what. Same with spraying, focus on pulling down your crosshair.
Also KD means nothining, ignore it, if you care about KD, CS is not your type of game.

If you catch yourself that you are not doing what you suppose to train, you are on auto-pilot, you want to have a mentally active and aware training session when you are training, to be more effective.

Here are a few tips that helped me DM and focus on my training a lot more.

- Use this command "cl_drawhud_force_deathnotices -1" to hide the killfeed on the right side. This can get hectic.
- Disable the voice chat to avoid any distractions.
- Enable the "Hide Avatars and Names" option in the game's settings.
Console command: cl_hide_avatar_images "1" (0 - Off | 1 -Block All | 2 - Block all but friends)
Aim Trainers
There are a lot of Aim Trainers out there now, some free, some paid.

These are great, however for CSGO, I don't think you'd benefit from using one, as you can pretty much achieve the same exercises inside of CSGO using the Workhop maps.
If you don't just play CSGO however, then it's a good idea to get one and practice certain scenarios for the type of game you're playing.(Fortnite POGGERS, Apex etc.)

Personally i use Kovaak's and it's pretty good, it's on the paid end, but definitely worth the money, as you get a lot of workshop maps, scenarios, exercises to grind and improve, and it has a Leaderboard system, so you can compare yourself to others.

Some Aim Trainers:
KovaaK's FPS Aim Trainer ($9.99)
Aim Hero ($4.99)
Aimtastic (FREE)
Aim Lab (FREE)

In this case, we will take a look at practicing your aim in an Aim Trainer specialized to train, well you guessed it, your aim!

"Grinding in Kovaaks for 1 hour will saturate your short-term aiming memory to a level that is beyond your long-term aiming memory. Starting your day with no training means you're starting your session with only your long-term aiming memory, which lags behind the performance of short-term aiming memory.

Warming up is a rather vague way to put it, but this is what it really means. It's a rather known observation in the sports and music field that performance after practicing, in the short-term, doesn't reflect 1:1 with long-term performance."

How to fix "undershooting" or "overshooting"?
This is a common issue I see on forums mostly.

You can work to fix this issue, I am gonna be honest, I am guilty of this habit, and did some experimentation that really did help me.

Now some of you what usually do when you overshoot or undershoot is change their sensitiviy.
Don't do that, this won't make things better, in fact it will most likely worsen your performance overall.

So here's a small little exercises that I did.

Load up TrainingAimCSGOdark

You can type in the commands that I mentioned above to have a clearer, crisper traning environment.

These are the settings I recommend you to start with.

For the best results you want to have your target as small as possible, but not to the point where you can't hit the target at all.
I started with 8 and moved down to 5. 5 is a little more challenging, but it will for sure help you not just with your issue, in this case the over/undershooting, but also with your first bullet accuracy aswell.

Try out 8 and see, if you can hit around 90-95 consistently, again CONSISTENTLY.
Move slow, painfully slow, you don't want to worry about speed at this time, that's not what is being trained right now. Speed will come with time and practice anyways.

So to sum up:

Easy:
Size: 8
Delay: 0.25
Amount: 100
Static Tar. Duration: 1

Advanced:
Size: 5
Delay: 0.25
Amount: 100
Static Tar. Duration: 0.75
Common mistakes
Here I will collect a list of common mistakes people make when training their aim.

Not focusing on the task:
This is pretty common, when you train you want to train deliberately, to maximize your training efficiency, this often happens when you are into your training for a few minutes then your mind starts to wander around thinking about various things.
Essentially losing focus and paying little to no attention to what you're training at the given time.

Possible solution:
  • If you can't focus for longer periods of time, try to break it down into a minute to 2 minute per run.
So let's say you practice flicking for 10 minutes, set a timer for 2 minutes 5 times.
  • Another thing that really helps a ton is meditation, and being mindful of what you're doing. Meditate in the morning and before bed 5-10 minutes and you'll see a significant improvement not just in your trainings, but in life in general.

More will be added over time.
Thank you!
Thank you for reading the guide!

I tried to put together a few of these tips that helped me improve my aim, and hopefully it will help you improve aswell.
I really hope that even one of the tips mentioned was beneficial for you and learned something new today, if you feel like something mentioned is wrong, or inaccurate feel free to discuss it in the comments section, there are many great aimers out there who could share his opinion on the topic.

@Kisma Sort of, sadly as I see the Workshop map I used here is not ported to CS2 and probably the commands are different as well, sadly I moved on from CS a long time ago, and you probably have a better time playing Aim Trainer scenarios in Aimlabs/Kovaaks that gives you good results. If you need help with anything I will try my best to assist you. Good luck! :crosshair:
