Tips
Hey. I decided to outline some basic tips based on my experience in the game. I plan to edit and expand it based on your comments.

Mines
  1. Usually, it's good to have two mines from the start, I place them as the first buildings. And it's often enough to win. The third mine can help in the middlegame. Building more than three doesn't seem to be worth it.
  2. Mines don't expand your territory so it's better to build them tucked away in a corner somewhere so they don't block your territory expansion.
Towers
  1. It's better to defend with them at a chocking point where two towers can attack one tile with incoming enemies. Only one tower can be overwhelmed pretty easily.
  2. Build towers only where you're attacked. There's no point in building defenses ahead of time, usually. If the enemy doesn't attack one of the paths yet then better to build barracks there.
  3. It can be a good idea to place your towers along the path of the enemy soldiers (not on top of the path). That way your towers are safe.
Barracks
  1. More barracks - the better.

Opening
  1. The enemy reacts to your opening moves pretty consistently. If you build a mine, they build one too. If you build two mines, usually they build two too. If you build barracks and path to the enemy castle through empty tiles, they build a tower.
  2. If you build barracks first (and the enemy hasn't built anything yet) you can path to the castle through one empty tile forcing them to build a tower on the path. And then you can re-path through another empty tile forcing them to build a second tower.
  3. Typical opening I use in domination: build two mines, build barracks. By this time opponent usually builds barracks too so I build a tower and continue with barracks.

Fighting
  1. Be aware of what you're attacking. The most important target is barracks, second - towers if they block your path or stand immediately next to the path. Mines (fields) aren't that important, if you break through to them you can probably already attack the castle directly. Re-path your soldiers in response to the enemy moves.
  2. End your soldier path on the enemy castle. Soldiers die when they reach the end of their path, to avoid it I always end their path with the opponent's castle.
  3. I have all my barracks follow the same path (sometimes two paths). That way the flow of soldiers is stronger and I don't get confused when re-pathing.
  4. It's easier to expand in the direction where you aren't attacked. Since you don't need to build/move defenses, you only build barracks with no resistance.
  5. Be aware of what your opponent is doing. Look which of your buildings are pathed to. Look in which direction your opponent is expanding. Change your plans accordingly.
  6. Deny the opponent's expansion. The opponent can't build right next to your buildings (and the same for you). On some maps the castles are close, and it's important to move towards the opponent's castle to leave them without territory to build up the defenses.
  7. On the maps with two enemy castles, you need to fully focus on one of them.
  8. On the maps with two enemy castles and you in the center, it's important to be quick.

Selling things
  1. If you see your building at the last health - better sell it. But it can be hard to catch the moment.
  2. Building jumping. You can quickly gain ground/move toward a crystal with "build a tower - build the second one - sell the first one" pattern but usually, it's pretty costly, useful only if you need to jump like a couple of tiles.

Upgrades
  1. Barracks are important to upgrade because that's your attacking power.
  2. Mines are somewhat cool, I like having two upgrades on them so only two mines give plenty of money.
  3. I don't find upgrading towers useful.

@aquaronin Thanks!
In my experience when you're placed in the center of a map with enemies attacking from two sides it's hard to defend both fronts. There aren't really good, safe places for mines. And opponents can attack you from multiple paths.
So instead of building up defenses aiming for a long game, it's easier to win quickly. Build two mines, choose attack path, and quickly build barracks/towers along chosen attack path. That way you can bring new troops faster to enemy base, and opponent can't build defenses right next to your buildings. So you basically quickly push through to a castle on one path.
Usually you still have to build one or two towers to defend yourself from attacks on other sides, and sometimes go for a crystal but the idea is the same.

Hi shtanko
thank you so much for the amazing guide. I have been studying your guide lately and it has been really a great source. I was hoping if you can elaborate more on point 8 the fighting section
