Introduction
While playing the game, rooms can be tricky: you don't know what they can do until you build and fully upgrade them, and when you upgrade to a new ship, you have to build them all over again, during which you'll often run out of materials, causing it to take forever before you're back to where you were before you upgraded. This guide is here to help you with that.
Room Basics
Rooms come in different types, but they all have things in common:
  • With the exception of the Bridge and Ladder, rooms will cost materials to build (the exact materials differ per room type), and you'll get some of the materials used to build back when you choose to dismantle the room (typically the most complicated ones). Materials expended on upgrades are not refunded.
  • HP: rooms start with 30 HP, and if they take too much damage from monsters, they'll be destroyed, which will refund you as if you'd dismantled them. With the Armor Up upgrade (cost: Field Generator x1, 15 Stamina, 20 seconds), you can increase the room's max HP to 50; doing so also unlocks the Major Armor Up upgrade (cost: Field Generator x2, 15 Stamina, 20 seconds), which will increase the max HP to 100. The only possible exception is the Arcade (when you try to select it, you'll enter Arcade mode, so I was unable to determine its HP).
  • Assignment slots: most rooms allow you to assign only a single mouse to them. Through the Assignment Enhancer, Assignment Enhancer II, and Assignment Enhancer III upgrades (each has the same cost: Chair x1, 15 Stamina, 10 seconds), you can increase this to 2, 3, and 4 assignment slots. Although most tasks will require a single mouse, assigning multiple mice to a room ensures that if one is resting, eating, or being healed, another can still perform tasks.
    Other rooms have a fixed number of assignment slots, which cannot be increased.

  • Group A recipes are available once you build the room. Other groups require you to upgrade the room first.
  • Unless specified otherwise, recipes require 1 mouse, 15 Stamina, and 40 seconds; upgrades require 1 mouse, 15 Stamina, and 20 Seconds.

Sleeping Quarters
Purpose: allows mice to recover Stamina by automatically resting in them.

Special properties:
  • Doesn't have any Assignment Enhancer upgrades. The Bed upgrades increase the number of mice a room can hold instead.
  • If you have more room than mice, mice may be born.

Kitchen
Purpose: Lets your mice prepare meals, which restore more Calories than regular edible items. Also lets you process food items.

Special properties:
  • Has 4 seats, which determines how many mice can eat at the same time; an upgrade can increase this to 8. Doesn't have Assignment Enhancer upgrades.
  • Kitchens start with a maximum stock of 10 meals; this can be increased through upgrades.
  • Only 1 kind of meal can be stocked per Kitchen; switching will discard all current stock.
