Room 42 is a horror rpg-maker adventure game, with some action sequences.
In this guide we will walk you through the game.

Notes
• You can die if you try exploring, so if you decide to explore and not follow the walkthrough closely, make sure to save.
  
• Avoid pressing f5 as that resets the game.
  
• The game features a lot of text that cannot be skipped, there's only auto mode available for text. You cannot skip on demand.
  
• You can't save all the time. If there's a cutscene it's impossible to save.

Click Awaken in the main menu to start a new game.
Scroll to the left to see a man pointing a gun at you

• Ugh. My head...
  
• What was that explosion?

Select the name "Dale" and click ok. (This is needed for an achievement)

• Where am I?

Talk to the person in the wheelchair

• Where Im I?
  
• What's going on?
  
• Who are you?
  
• What time is it?

We will recieve a watch.

• What do you know?

Talk to the girl with purple shirt.

• Who are you?
  
• What do you know?

Talk to the girl with black jacket.

• Who are you?
  
• What do you know?

Talk to the doctor with glasses.

• Who are you?
  
• What do you know?

Talk to the person with blue clothes.

• Who are you?
  
• What do you know?

Go inside the bathroom (green arrow) and back outside.
The doctor should start talking.

After the long cutscene the man in blue will lay in the middle of the room, quickly press right click and make a new save.

Save #1 (We need this save again later for the other ending, make sure to not save over it)

• When picking a choice, choose : Freed

When the man in blue attacks, talk to the girl in the black jacket.
She will give you a gun.
Aim at the zombie and and shoot, after hitting him once he will approach you, shoot once more to kill him.
After another long cutscene, talk to the people in the room.
Start with the girl in purple shirt.
After the cutscene, talk to the girl in purple again.
She would give you an admission note.
Talk to the girl in the wheelchair.

Now a zombie will attack behind the window, interact with it near the plant 6 times to continue.
Talk to the girl in the wheelchair.
Talk to the girl with purple shirt.
Talk to the girl sitting.
Now walk around the room a bit for new dialogue to start.
After another long cutscene two characters will leave the room after moving the cabinet.
Talk to the girl in the wheel chair again. The other 2 girls should come back.
Now all characters should leave.
Go to the right, and follow everyone left.
Now follow everyone to the upper left room.

Interact with the cabinet on the left and solve the puzzle.
Click on 1-7 in order, and on green block 8 twice and 9 green block twice to reveal a note and safe.

After another long cutscene, pick up the Paper (Blank) from the desk.
And inspect the laptop on the glass table.
Walk around the room a bit, and another cutscene should start.

After the cutscene, interact with the cabinet on the left and enter the safe code: 0303
Take everything from inside.
When the girl asks you what you found inside the safe select:

• .45 Pistol
  
• Blank keycard
  
• Stimulant

Now follow everyone outside when they leave, and keep following to the bottom right exit.
When you reach the corridor an action sequence will start, shoot the approaching shadowy enemies. They will be coming from both sides.
Keep progressing slowly to the right.
After the girl gets grabbed, stop shooting and quickly run to the next area to the right.
Follow the people down.

You will find yourself outside the hospital.
After a cutscene outside, the game will end.

Load save #1

Or if you didn't make a save, keep playing until you reach a choice between untying the doctor or leaving him tied up.

Choose: Locked.

After the cutscene of the doctor dying, talk to everyone in the room, and walk a bit for new dialogue to start.
After the cutscene ends, talk to all the people once again, and walk a bit more for new dialogue.
Talk to all the people again once the dialogue ends, and the girl should go and investigate a sound and get grabbed.
Once the group moves to the right, go there and interact with the cabinet to move it.
Now follow the group outside.
Follow them left, and into the elevator.
When the elevator stops exit it.
After the cutscene, talk to everyone.
Wait a little bit, and a new cutscene should start.

Now head through the elevator when it opens.
Keep following the group to the right.
Follow the group, and when they go through the brown door go with them.
After they leave, leave with them.
They should now head to the bottom room with hospital beds, follow.
Leave once more and follow the lady with the wheelchair inside another room.
After the cutscene leave the room.
Head to the left through the door and you will meet a girl, now the other group members will join up.
After the cutscene/dialogue, interact with the monitor.
Follow the group to the bottom right room.
Click on the lady with the wheelchair and help her go down, and follow the linear path until you meet with the other member of the group.
After the cutscene ends, go back upstairs, and go near the door with the green cabinets.
A dialogue will start, after it ends try going to the bottom right door, and a girl should come back.
Wait for the cutscene to end, and follow the group members.
After another cutscene, get into the elevator.
When everyone leaves after the cutscene, leave the room and follow the group and get out when you can.
You will find out that someone broke the monitor.
After the cutscene ends follow the group to the left

Go down to reach an elevator, wait for the cutscene to end and talk to the girl near the door.
When the door opens go through, and head up.
Go to the right, and reach the place downstairs with the ritual.
Near the entrance you should find a finger, pick it up and use it on the scanner.

Now head through the door.
Before picking up the note in the middle of the room make a save, as you may die in the next section.
Once the strange vision ends, interact with the mirror and prepare to run quick.
A shadowy creature will start chasing you so quickly walk through the door, and all the way upstairs.
Once you leave the basement, you are safe.
Go left and try to reach back to the elevator with your friends.


Leave the room, and go to the brown door on the right, the shadowy creature will start chasing you.
Climb up by clicking on the crates, and go through the vent.

The creature will be chasing you while you crawl through the ventilation shaft,
Crawl right, and go down, ignore the first entrance to the right and keep going all the way down, and right to leave.
Keep running to the left and up the stairs to run away from the monster.
Follow the girl and you will reach the elevator.
Talk to the girl and wait for the cutscene to end, then leave.
After the cutscene ends, talk to the girl near the open door.
You will get a pistol.
Before following the group to the next scene make a save, as you may die here.
After Ormand begins laughing prepare for enemies to come and shoot.
Enemies will be coming from both directions, so move slowly to the right and keep shooting when they come.
The moment the girl gets grabbed run to the right into the next area, and follow the group outside.
Wait for the cutscene to end.
