Introduction
So you new to TF2 and you don't know what to do? That's alright, because you came to the right place. This guide was made to help new players learn the basics of TF2 or players that want to have a review.

Just a reminder that this guide is my own opinion. Please don't hate on me for anything I say in this guide. Thank you.
About F2P
If you didn't already know, Team Fortress 2 is a free online Multiplayer game. That means anyone can play this game for free. Players that have never bought anything in the Mann Co Store or used a Upgrade to Premium are called F2P (Free to play). In most cases, they can't trade. Also F2Ps have a very small backpack to store their items. You may be thinking "I don't need to trade" or "I don't need a bigger backpack". Thats perfectly fine. But players that paid to play the game or has a premium account tend to look down to F2Ps. Don't let them bother you. Just because you don't have money or don't want to upgrade your account doesn't mean you suck. Just hold your head high and have fun playing the game! :D
The Ghostly Gibus
The Ghostly Gibus, also known as 'The Hat of Shame', is a hat that you get from completing the 'Ghastly Gibus Grab 'achievement . Most players (Mostly premium players) say this hat is for noobs because they can't get their hands on any other hat. This hat is the most hated hat in TF2. But wait, if you like the hat just wear it! The Ghostly Gibus doesn't show that your a bad player or your a noob. It shows that you would wear it even if people would look down to you. That's a true gamer. As for me, I still wear the Ghostly Gibus even know I'm a premium player! Sure, I have much better hats to wear then my Ghostly Gibus. But who cares? It's just a hat!
Recomended Class
For noobies, I recommend that you play the Soldier to learn the basics. The reason is because it's a well balanced class and it's easier to play. A disadvantage about the Soldier is it's slower than most classes but with it's extra health it evens the balance out. The normal max health for the Soldier is 200 and the overheal max is 300. The default (stock) weapons for the Soldier is the Rocket Launcher, the Shotgun, and the Shovel. Each weapon has it's own advantage and disadvantages.

The primary weapon is the Rocket Launcher, which fires rockets in a straight line. It's most effective close range because the Rocket Launcher does less damage the farther it travels. Also it's best to aim at your enemy's feet due to the splash damage. A normal rocket does a base damage of 90 but a critical rocket does 270 damage, making it really effective.

If you don't have time to reload your primary weapon or to pick off a weak enemy, you should use the Shotgun. The Shotgun is best used at close range because of the spread of the bullets, not to be shooting at some Sniper on the other side of the map. The base damage of the Shotgun is 60 damage but a critical shot is 180 damage.

Out of ammo or your in a very small room? No worrys, just pull out your Shovel! The shovel does 65 on a normal hit but it does 195 damage on a critical hit. Great for taking out weak enemys!

There other kinds of Rocket Launchers, secondary weapons, and melee weapons but the default (stock) weapons are the most balanced weapons in the game.

Once you learn the basic controls of the game, your ready to try out another class! I recommend you try out all the classes to see which ones you like and hate. You should stay away from playing the Spy for awhile because thats the hardest class in the game, but play that class if you wish.
The Workshop
The Steam Workshop is were players create stuff like hats and weapons to be added in games. The good thing is, Team Fortress 2 has a Workshop too! Most of the hats you see most likely was created by another player and was accepted in the game. Anyone can create and post a hat or a weapon on the Workshop but only a few hats and maybe a weapon gets added to the game. Isn't that awesome?
How To Upgrade Your Account
You may be wondering how do you upgrade your TF2 account? Well it's simple. All you have to do is buy anything from the Mann Co Store or use a Upgrade to Premium gift. I recommend just buying something from the Mann Co Store because some items in the store are cheaper than buying a Upgrade to Premium. Once you buy something, your account will be upgraded right away. You will get 5 more packpack pages, you can trade, and you don't have the [F2P] next to your name on some servers.
Thank you
